I would rather have us signing no players then doing a Fede Bassone again...

I don't think there is to much to worry about. Apparently Laudrup and Jenkins have made several enquiries today without getting any fish. Still we have Moore, Shechter, Donnelly as strikers. We also have Lamah that have been playing as a striker earlier in is career. Michu can play up there or we could play with no strikers like Barca... Not saying that I would not like another striker, but I won't take any striker. I'd rather we wait till the summer if we can't get what we want now... We are practically safe and our best shot for Europe is the League Cup.
 
Does anyone else think that the Stoke fans on SSN are a right bunch of ugly sods ?

Very disappointing. We shouldn't buy for buying's sake but, as others have said, it leaves us very vulnerable if Michu is injured and you can add to that the fact he doesn't like the main striker's role.

Mackie and Jones might not be our first choices but either could have done a decent job. Perhaps we just couldn't get them. I guess we will stay up but I think this inactivity will cost us dearly in league position. Bearing in mind that we are talking about a million quid a place, if we drop 5 places, that's Danny's money blown and more. Very muddled thinking, in my opinion and I think we might regret it.
 
Swim, Clare Balding isn't a SSN presenter. Have you been at the funny ***s again ?

So we've done what Liverpool done last summer,Got rid of a striker on the last transfer day and brought in nobody else.So we have to rely on Michu like they had to rely on Suarez..

Personally i would not have sold Danny to Sunderland until the summer even if he was desperate to leave or not,Ffs it's only four months to the end of the season and a final to play for in a few weeks..

I don't dispute that, PGF. Knowing that he was going to go, though, I just don't understand why we couldn't bring anyone in. We are now wafer thin up front and we might pay the price for that.

Maybe Laudrup intends to get Routledge playing through the middle given that the new boy is a winger. Moore has been mothballed, Shechter hasn't cut it and if we get any injuries we will have problems. Of that there is no doubt.
