I like your positive notes. Hope your right.

Oh yeah , Rooney, welbeck,Hernandez :cheesy:

Ok. I'll open your mind for you if you need it ... Why did they have to play Michael Carrick CB for a few games? My point was that even united have to ignore the "if"'factor; it just happens.

Isn't it true though it doesn't matter which club you support there is always a diverse amount of opinion? Whether it be about how a player is seen to play......how the team played the tactics used.....the subs made,ETC, ETC. Not forgetting the players the fans want the team to buy or sell.
If you look at the players we have been linked with and the discussions that have gone on as to his suitability it could not be more diverse. Rarely is there a total consensus.
As I have said before Saints in particular have an averege of about 30 odd thousand managers out there and even when we win a game they don't agree.....<laugh>

I saw a great post on SaintsWeb in regards to De Ridder this morning:

No idea why people love to hate him so much. He really hasn't been any worse than some players who have had regular game time.

One of those players who comes on for 20 minutes at the end of a game and is no worse than anyone else, yet people on here talk about him as being by far our worst player because he didn't turn the game around on his own. I haven't seen anything more from say Mayuka this season, yet everyone is insistant he just needs more time and will come good. Double standards.

Hopefully he gets some decent game time (which he has never had here) and proves him worth. Maybe he will come back afterwards and prove a few people wrong.

Saints Fan4Life is obviously related to De Ridder. How else do you explain the constant disliking of posts that criticize De Ridder?

Actually, I quite liked Martin when he was playing for us in the Championship. He's nowhere near good enough for the PL, but he did a decent job in the Championship.

<cheers> I think he could have done a job in the PL if he had a succesful loan spell at Palace, but that appears to have knocked him for six.

I must admit to being a little depressed last night when I saw how little inwards activity we had had.

So

I went on the Pompey Forum.

And now I feel a lot happier about our situation.

Onwards and Upwards

I suppose with these players going out, we have something different to occupy our minds as a distraction from the main event, I wish them all well and hope something good comes from it, if not for us then for them, and someone else. So much negativity on here is tending to spoil things, why not be positive for once in your lives.

Especially considering the drivel he used to come out with about how much he hated Dan Seaborne.

I don't hate Seaborne. That seems to be a Not606 myth.

I don't think he's good enough for the level we were, and currently are at.

I thought we needed another wide man on top of what we already had so I'm a little concerned we've done the opposite by letting De Ridder go. Even if you think he's **** he's been getting game time so it's a bit odd to let him go without replacing him. Oh well.

Barnard, Forte and Reeves weren't likely to play so letting them leave makes sense.

I did too, then I thought....

... Lallana
Puncheon
Guly
Ramirez (I know, I know, he's better down the middle)

That's four. We then could include Rodriguez, Shaw could play wide left if we lost loads through injury, as could clyne on the right. I think Pochettino knows what the score is.

Let's face it, if we had that many injuries to be in the **** wide, then we'd be very unlucky.

Yeah, it's not the end of the world and there's also Mayuka and maybe Lee who could play out wide, but only Puncheon and Lallana have looked really good there so far. Guly has been fine but hasn't really looked like he could win us a game. I don't know, De Ridder has only gone for a month (initially anyway) so maybe Poch thinks he can do a job but needs to play a few games first.

Yep, I fogot Mayuka and Lee too. I'm not sure Mayuka is a wide player though, but as you say, could be used there.
