Peterborough Owner Darragh McAnthony: "What is with NFFC messing around with my club.1st my manager, now after putting Boyd through a medical since 10am this morning, their owner has cxxx the deal at last minute when their manager wants him. Farcical & ridiculous. More to follow."
Jrod for me is not a winger, just is not. Does not track back well does not get good crosses in and always comes central (because he is a striker) not taking anything away from Jrod i think he has great talent! for me we only have Lallana and Punch that are of a above relegation class. Tadanari Lee not the same player as the champ and Mayuka has pace but thats it from what we have seen. We cant go playing players out of position like Jrod and Gaston! only thing i can think is that we may promote some youth players... Omar Rowe? Chambers?... who is good enough and ready for a relegation fight? its a massive responsibility to put on a youngster who has never played first team.
Gambling on potential counts for **** if we go down. I go every game when he plays he's been poor. People said the same about deridder when he signed and we all watched the YouTube videos...... Now look
A cb an essential in this window, which we got. Surprised we haven't strengthened our squad further though, hope it dosen't bite us in the bum. An earlier post saying we have 4 or 5 different options for LB to compete atl PL standard, I'm not even going to go there!! We could definitely do with another wide option, Lallana and Punch and we haven't got a lot else. At Old Trafford last night and JRod, okay he scored but is clearly uncomfortable on either flank.
Just think we needed a little bit of strength added . Having said that i posted a few days ago that perhaps the new manager is content with the squad we have . Nice on top of this fence........
Lloyd Isgrove & Calum Chambers are both in and around the first team, with Isgrove making an impressive debut away at Leeds in October.
I jus think he feels we have enough to stay up this season and also wants to start getting rid of the crap we still have. Like Fran said earlier next season I feel (if we stay up) we will see a massive change in players.
I don't think people need to be too disappointed. Yes our squad is thin but we've put up a real fight so far with the players we have despite having injuries to key players. We showed last night that new tactics were as valuable as new signings and I think we will be fine. We have a very capable squad of players. It's disappointing not to get someone but some fans would take a signing for the sake of excitement, but I don't agree with that. Below I've only included players who I think are good enough or have the potential for the PL. GK: Boruc, Gazzaniga DEF: Clyne, Fonte, Yoshi, Hooiveld, Shaw, Fox, Forren MID: Lallana, Cork, Schneiderlin, Puncheon, Davis, Ramirez, JWP, Chaplow (yes I'm serious) ATT: Lambert, Rodriguez, Guly, Mayuka Do we really look that thin? That team is just as good as any other in the bottom 6 or so, I think we will be fine this season.
More from the Posh owner... "Apparently after playing 300 games in 6 and half years, his vision isn't 20/20 so no deal. Total disgrace the whole thing."
If we stay up . Which we will or won't . Agree and disagree with what you say . Really is a comfy fence this one.......
Newcastle didn't spend around 30m at the start of the season we did. We can't just throw more and more cash in our first season in the Prem. I'm happy with the team we have atm and feel we will stay up
All I can remember about Lee last season was his good goal. Didn't rate him then and still don't, he's better than De Ridder. Oh well if MP is happy then we should all be happy.
He was noticeably poor in an U21 game that I went to see. Just one game sure but he hasn't been able to impress enough to get into a team without a lw, despite being back fit for some time now. If he is not getting picked by NA, and doesn't now get onto the pitch for Poch then he probably isn't good enough. I think people loved him last season because he was our first Japanese player, ran around a lot (fans love 'effort') and scored one cracking goal.
Fully agree with that. Besides which, if we signed a PL quality winger for example and we get relegated, it's just one more player who would want to leave, and we would have to sell at a cut price.
