Exactly. No mandate should have meant no change... Let's see what happens... Getting a sense that something will happen to stop this madness.

It was straight majority of anything more than half so 51% would have sufficed. Leeds voted 50.3% to remain after all to put it in context.

Nothing will change the result so accept it as I would have respected and accepted the result had it been a remain victory, the will of the people no matter how many voted has to be respected.

50% +1 of everyone on the register should be the minimum to trigger a change.

But that should be the same with with general elections. Proportional representation. But if only 45% vote only 45% of seats get filled in proportion with voter wishes.

Agreed mate and it should be a legal requirement to vote.

You are right nothing will change the result we are stuck with it. We can only hope that things will be better for the country, but Boris and Nigel don't fill me with confidence.

Boris is a lovable rogue bless him and a rare thing for people having more time for him than most Tories!!

I lost respect for Cameron who I actually liked, he lost too much crediblity for me during the campaign but at least he's taken responsibility.

It seemed to me the enormity of Cameron resigning and people now looking to Boris as being PM worthy was why he seemed very subdued in his press conference last Friday, he wasn't celebratory in any way and maybe also being friends with Cameron for so many years effected him. No doubt he had some PR/spin advice behind the scenes as well.

Maybe reason he was subdued is he now realises the jmagnitude of the job that lies ahead and perhaps he really didn't even expect the result he got
