Neil, Embleton and Diamond getting talked up now as they add much needed strength and pace up front, its up to Parky to pick the right team now from the options available, and thats the difficult bit.
For a big man, Wyke is too easily dominated by L1 defenders, in the air and on the ground. To decide whether or not I'm pleased about this signing or not I asked myself a question. "If I was a L1 centre half who would I rather play against?" I doubt many defenders would look forward to playing against Graham ... ... especially with Grigg running off him. I hope I'm not wrong.
Rather have Graham as an option than Wyke, far better footballer and more likely to score at this level imo.
Had a little look at his Insta, and there’s literally hundreds of Blackburn fans saying gutted he’s gone, so he must have been contributing still, which is good enough for me. I also notice, being a man who looks for these things, that his post has about 2,500 more ‘likes’ than his average numbers. That will give him a nice lift, I’m sure.
I think he will do a good job. He should certainly have the experience to give L1 defenders plenty to think about. I think last season only Toney got 20 league goals. If Graham or Grigg can get into double figures and Maguire and Gooch both keep bagging their share we might not be too far away. Ever the optimist...
I’m happy with this says all the right things and we know he’s Gona give 100 percent. He’s definitely an upgrade on Wyke.
We had a decent championship striker in the premier league. Our fans forget that. We now have a decent championship striker in league 1. If they weren’t both the same player, chances are none of the twitter and Facebook arseholes would care!! oh and he was born on my tenth birthday!! Must mean something!!
reeto, did i get excited when i heard we may be signing danny again?... did i feck. but how many of our other 'decent' strikers can claim a good collection of goals in recent years?...take defoe out of the picture and i cannot think of any since SKP/SNQ (yes, we were spoilt in those years and anyone coming to the club had some MASSIVE boots to fill) but i stick by what myself and many others have said and that is that these players did not become bad players overnight...they were all starved of service and the hull game plus the friendlies showed the team are going to create more, DG never hid, was an honest and hard working player...and because of that i am happy to welcome him to the club again and hope he gets the chance to prove us wrong.
Will be interesting to see who goes up too between him grigg and obrien or if two of them form a partnership
This all day long Smug, you'd have to be **** at spotting a decent footballer at our level if people would rather have Wyke than Graham up front for us, as long as Graham's legs haven't gone he'll be streets ahead of Wyke in terms of technique, ability and end product.
