Seriously, though, I do worry about getting players from relegated sides. We'll see. Whatever, nobody can criticise the club for lack of transfer action this time around.
of all the signings, we've getting 2 championship players(westwood & wickham), 2 from a relegated club(larsson & gardner) and a south korean so i can see where some people are coming from, but they'll all turn out to be good signings imo, hopefully we'll sign o'shea and welbeck(loan more than likely) from man utd to put some people's mind at rest, and maybe hutton and a winger
Ha ha. He struck you down with cold hard facts marra. POW!! I'm not at all concerned, a small squad, too many games and not enough goals did for Brum.
Or... We have signed probably the best 'keeper outside the Premier League, who is ambitious and self confident. One of the hottest prospects in English football. A midfielder who cracked 10 goals in a struggling side. A bona-fide set piece specialist. And, a massive dong. All sounds a bit more positive/amusing...
There's always a few angles mate, Brum conceded less goals than several teams who survived, including Villa, who finished 9th (dirty bastards...).
Not at all BB. Fact is that Birmingham got relegated and I don't feel comfortable with possibly inheriting a quarter of their team regardless of how many/few goals they conceded. Proof of the pudding is in the eating - let's hope we all enjoy a good feed next season, with not too much indigestion!
I know your point mate, but i don't think anyone can question the quality of Dann and Johnson, relegated teams from the top tier will always have a handful of premier league class players, i don't personally think it's a problem at all mate.
At least we didn't get the manager who was responsible for the whole thing. I am not too worried about taking players from a relegated team as long as they were their best performers. Football is a team game and even if you do have a stand out performer like Gardner was if the rest of the team are not up to it then there is little they can do to stop the drop. Would be happy with Dann but 10mill does sound a bit steep considering he did have a bad injury. Time will tell on all the new signings but I am quietly confident we can improve on last season and push on, bloody hope so anyway
My biggest concern is now the defence - O'Shea and Brown rumours or Johnson /Samba/Dann debate all well and good. Given who we have brought in so far the squad has improved (no doubt) but we are still shaky at the back - I would forego a marquee striker signing for a couple of centre backs and a full back - O'Shea my favourite name at the mo... (would struggle to see Wes Brown in a Sunderland shirt as it would clash with his hair!)
Answered that one a few weeks ago, mate! Difference is that Adam WAS Blackpool and Parker WAS Wham. Both one-man teams who were lost without them. Not so with Birmingham.
Totally agree murray out. that sounds like a canny deal nos and killgallon is a decent championship cb pairing id even offer them mccartney as well £5m + two centre back and a left back is a good deal for both clubs.
