He won more tackles than any other player in the league yet he's still soft as **** and light weight, he's having to actually play more of the Evans role which isn't even his game yet some will criticise, but they will be the same ones complaining when we sell for a packet in a few years. I can remember a young local lad getting grief of quite a few fans a few years ago, same thing, that he wasn't good enough and people had purple glasses on because he came through the academy. He went by the name of Jordan Henderson, I'm not quite sure what happened to him
I used to have arguments regarding Henderson with a guy who went on the mini bus to matches with us. One instance always stands out in my mind. Henderson played a beautiful dinked ball over the top of the centre halfs for someone just to run onto it and slot it home. No one else read it so this guy's response was to shout "why didn't he have a ****ing shot!". Henderson had a midfielder running up to close him down and 2 centre halfs in front of him and he was supposed to have a shot!
What's wrong with that,?? Been mates well before he came did business with him for years, no secret that.
Do you not see how there's a direct contradiction between a player putting in the most tackles and having the heart of a pea.
Bob mate, I can assure you that Dan Neil has a home gym and is hammering it daily. He was also devastated when he was sent off at Sheff Utd, it affected him badly. This might account for him not going in for tackles that you think he should. It’s easy to sit in the stands and think he bottled it, but only the player will know when to tackle or risk another booking/sending off.
if you know him ask him to work on his trait of getting caught in possession. His awareness of players around him needs serious work. Three times again today.. Seriously, please let him know. His improvement in his game will be better for it.
