Will be Gooch you’d imagine but I completely agree.

Although I guess O’Nien is probably next in line.

it’s good that despite so many senior injuries we have so many genuinely good options as captain.
Can definitely understand Gooch and O'Nien being mentioned because they are more expirienced but looking longer term I'd give it to Dan. To be fair, if I was O'Nien or Gooch I'd actually suggest it to Mowbray. Those 2 will do their stuff without wearing an armband but I think it would be great to see Neil lead the team out.

That'd be brilliant to see before the end of the season.

I get what you're saying but I don't agree. Neil will have enough to do just trying to play his game against a very good side. We don't need to add pressure on to him when we have natural leaders there already.

If you're captain material like I think Neil is then being made captain isn't added pressure it's just added motivation. If you're the type of player who needs babying when it comes to pressure you're never going to be a leader. I don't think that's Dan.
Personally, I think he would ****ing love it and would be a good reward for hitting 100 appearances and drive him on to get 100 more (anyone hearing the Proclaimers at this point <laugh>) . As well as being a very good player of course.

I don't think it'd faze him in the slightest. He already takes on a lot of responsibility it's just a natural progression. He'd buzz off it like you say.

Unreal the progress Dan had made this season, was uncessary critism put his way by a few supporters after hes made mistakes, young player that had the experienced head next to him taken away when Evans got injured, way hes stood up & now leads that midfield is fantastic

hes made a few errors...young players make mistakes....all players make mistakes....what impressed me the most about ths lad is hes head hasnt dropped or hes tried to play different or safe...hes got on & played hes game...hopefully we can look forward to another 100 in a red & white shirt....after that hes going to take some hanging on to...if not before

TM needs massive credit the way he clear gives our young players confidence to express themselves
