I also always try to support local enterprising individuals, especiallyif it a new start up venture...
Adnam's Broadside is a good drop. Strong stuff, 6.5% I think. Failing that, 8 bottles of Tesco own-brand stubbies should fit the bill
http://www.woldtopbrewery.co.uk/ East Yorkshire's finest (at least, I think its brewed in the county).
sounds like your in same boat as me well apart from i not been to KC in a few years (hoping to change that next season though) i dont mind brizzle though grounds bit **** but i enjoy the day out and im gutted we lost those 3 as missed the reading ans saints game this season due to work i was hoping bournemouth would get promoted as near enough on my doorstep haha and as for the not renewing season pass if i could get to the games i would love to have kept mine and renewed it every season i love hull city and will support them no matter what i go for the players not the owners!
Theres a micro brewery at Brough called the Big River Brewery, I had a pint or two of theirs at Pocktoberfest and it went down nicely. I was brought up on Sam Smiths Bitter in Nellies in Bev, it used to be okay when it was cheap and it still is relatively but nowhere near as cheap as it used to be. Can't beat Deuchars IPA though.
Regarding the original subject of the thread, my season pass will be renewed. My view is that not enough people will not renew to make it a worthwhile protest, so the club will suffer without anything being achieved (financially and in terms of atmosphere and support which will affect the team's performance). The money that goes into the club isn't lining the Allams pockets, its' helping the club run as a viable business. There are probably more effective ways of protesting, for example use of banners and chants at the matches if you are so inclined. I don't agree with Nick's suspension/sacking but until we know whats going on fully it seems a bit early to make a decision.
I wonder if crowds might be significantly down on this season anyway, since the season passes are still a long way off being available.
Why do you say they are a long way off being available. I think Mr Allam said he was waiting to see the position we were in at the end of the season or something like that but how long can it take presuming it was just the price to be finalised.
According to George Hudson (works at the club, can't remember his exact role but he came here with that Maguire fella and has stuck around since) they are still at least 4 weeks away from being ready, because they are completely overhauling the seating arrangements. There's going to a specific singing section (presumably somewhere near E1) and people who currently sit there will be told that they should either move or expect a rowdy atmosphere around them and all of the family areas are being scrapped in favour of the South being one large family stand which will be much more family friendly than the current family areas.
I can see why this may take some time, but surely that can be done during the season? Why wait til after the season to do that, they surely knew come February they where going to have to look at rearranging the seating so why leave it til now? I can understand the pricing structure may change depending upon the situation etc.... And we may get a begging letter to renew if NB and AP both go, but four weeks seems a hell of a lot to me.
Dont see the season pass renewals going out anytime soon. Would suggest that will wait until the current mess is sorted and maybe a nice signing or 2 is made to get the buzz back again. imo.
