Pearson signed him, but didn't play him, Barmby rated him, but now won't play him either, we agreed to sell him to Millwall, but having had him for a few months, they pulled out of a permanent deal. I think that probably says more about Simpson than it does about three managers and two clubs he's played for this season.
Maybe, but as I've said above, 4 goals in 11 should speak for itself. It's not an amazing record but it equals that of Fryatt. I half know in the back of my mind that I'm just too stubborn on the subject of Simpson and should probably accept that there's a reason for it all, but I doubt I'll drop it until he gets a real chance in the team, and if he doesn't, then I'll be all 'I told you so' if he does well elsewhere
It seems he isn't particularly impressing in the reserves or in training, but surely there have to be some players who you have to accept are just like that..
I'm doing my best not to keep repeating the exact same point but if managers think he's THAT terrible when he's managing to keep up a scoring ratio of a goal every 3 games (15 per season) then you'd think he'd be worth a shot.
