Yes there is . . . . as Rowley said above, the term 'batsman' or 'batsmen' has been used for over 250 years, 'cos that's what they are, so why change it 'cos women play !The women's game has grown massively and is getting huge crowds. The same commentators are working across both games, so why make then say batsman and batswoman - nothing wrong with using batter as a generic term and certainly not as conspiratorial as you are suggesting

I hope he proves me wrong, but I think we've come to the end of his incredible career.Looking very comfortable here mind.
Must say Jimmy really looks a shadow of himself. A bit of movement, but mostly early, and just no threat.
Not good to see such a great bowler looking so short of what he was.
In hindsight...some said it yesterday...Tongue should have played ahead of Anderson.Looking very comfortable here mind.

Absolutely agree. Tongue is a far better bowler at this moment imo. Not historically. Historically, there is no better swing bowler ever.I hope he proves me wrong, but I think we've come to the end of his incredible career.
Picking Anderson, for his final test at his home ground was an emotional pick. The right pick would have been Josh TongueAbsolutely agree. Tongue is a far better bowler at this moment imo. Not historically. Historically, there is no better swing bowler ever.
Say "pick" morePicking Anderson, for his final test at his home ground was an emotional pick. The right pick would have been Josh Tongue
Looks a great day for batting today so I hope you are rightWith the weather forecast, I won’t be surprised if we get them out quickly in the morning and then put 400 on before we declare giving them a few overs before the close of play.
