Sorry for bringing something up in a discussion and in reply to another poster who said he didn't believe it at all
 
The quandary still outstanding is about do we need a specialist wicketkeeper.

I find these tense finishes unwatchable at times...

Suppose it's the cost/benefit of Bairstow's runs v Foakes superior keeping.
JB may have cost us chances, but his runs (in a tight contest) could yet prove vital

You could bring Foakes in for Ali and use Root as your spinner

Dunno. Root has bowled a lot of overs in the past, wonder if this is just an unfortunate injury. I've never heard of a spinner suffering like this after bowling (relatively) few overs
 
It's also a non-starter 'cos there is no way Stokes bowls as part of a 4 man attack

They where talking about it on sky this morning that as Ali only tends to bowl 4 overs in 20/20 his fingers haven't got the resistance of a 'normal' spinner
