Chatting to another tradesman in Melbourne OZ today.
7 deaths was the lowest we have had for a couple of weeks. It's usually about 12 per day. It's still very few deaths and obviously the vast majority of them are people from the oap homes.
The latest from our glorious dictator is that those of us that still have a job can work on one site on Thursday and stay working on the site until we are finished. We have over weeks work to do on our site but we are not going to be able to get all the materials to finish it so all we can do is keep working until we are at the stage where we need certain items to finish the job and then go into lockdown. I think we will have to leave the site some time next week. Some of the other trades on other jobs will finish tomorrow and go into lockdown. If you are an electrician for example and go to a job and finish it before midnight on Thursday, you can not start another job on Friday. You have to go into lockdown.
Police and the army are all over the place. Police have been walking onto sites and telling guys to put their masks on. Two of them walked onto my m8s site and told the guys to put their masks on when they were sat around having their lunch break outside.

It's like a f**k**g military dictatorship, m8.
$200 fine if caught without a mask. If you are at work and working for somebody you get the fine and your boss gets fined $1000, m8 !
The state government's site crashed last night because people could not believe that the government would only let us work on one site. The state government have now had to tell all the construction industry that what they really meant to say is you can only work on one site per day. Can't start any new sites after 06/08/20 but can work on sites that have already been started by the end of 06/08/20.
They've caused so much confusion. The are such f**k**g idiots that can't explain anything properly the first time.
Not allowed to go out of a 5 kms radius of the house unless it's for work and I had to download a "Permitted worker" form that shows the address of where I am working. When we are done on this site, I have to download another form and put the address of the next site on it and so on. Can't go food shopping out of the 5 kms radius unless there are no supermarkets within 5 kms. No retail outlets open. Anyone that is out between 8 pm and 5 am has to have documentation giving them permission to do so.
Meat shortages now. Partly because some people have been panic buying and partly because meat production is down.
This country is turning into a socialist's wet dream of veganism, rationing, restricted movement and tyranny and for no f**k**g good reason
Today the building companies have had to rush around to all the sites putting a barcode type of thing (see pic below) on the site entrances. The state government brought in yet another rule late yesterday afternoon. We all have to take a pic of the barcode (or whatever it is?) when we come to work and send this to a government app or department or something and then repeat the process when we go home. The barcode is different on every site. We have to show this to the police if asked.

These c**ts have no idea what they are doing. They've had f**k**g months to plan for this but seem to be making it up as they go along. They bring out a new rule and literally the very next day they change it because they realise it's too strict. For example, yesterday they were saying that supermarkets and food distribution centres had to cut their workforces by some percentage (I think it might have been 25%?). Yeah, why not? It's just food. Who needs it? Today they have decided that people can't live without food so they have told the supermarkets and food distribution centres to carry on as they were and not to cut the workforce. Who the f**k comes up with these ideas? Why have they not been studying what other countries have done and seen where mistakes have been made or what has worked?
