The world is going tits up and I'm just sat here reading peoples thoughts about other people kicking a ball around.

In Not606 terms it's like Barry Jong-Il (with his 'look at me' moves) vs Vladimir CBK (I don't care what anybody thinks, I'm always right regardless). It just needs some strong mods and sensible voices.

North Korea have fired two missiles into the sea just off the east coast of South Korea.

There was a stand off between the West and Russia in the cold war, but neither were going to fire any missiles because they strangely actually cared about their own people and thought desolation of the planet might be a bad thing. The danger now is if nuclear weapons get in the hands of psychotic megalomaniacs (like in North Korea) or religious nutjobs (like Muslim extremists). But my advice (learnt as a child during the Cuban crisis) is that the worst rarely happens and don't waste your life worrying about what you can't change. To the young this appears all new, but we've been here before and we will be here again.

Yep, not unduly worried in reality. Cuba was far worse, but when it comes down to the crunch, even the most insane people have a "hold on, this is all a bit too silly now" button.

Will only follow the trial by reading headlines. Don't know what to think. He's behaving a bit coldly, but that may just be him. His story may be true as they seemed to have a good relationship. If it isn't true, he would have to be a complete sociopath to have deliberately targeted her after a spat. Her parents say that he has never said sorry...that could be under a lawyers advice, though I think most of us would have contacted them under the circumstances. The parents are planning to sue him in the civil courts on the grounds that she was their breadwinner...make of that what you will.

Probably told not to contact them tbh.

He's pleaded not guilty to all charges, and the court is now hearing witness accounts. There are apparently over 100 witnesses - they've been questioning the first one for a good couple of hours.

I ment what do you think? 100 witnesses?

Ah I see. It's hard to say really, it's not exactly the most clear cut of cases. Quite naive to the whole thing really, but still interested in it nonetheless.

And yes, 107 witnesses is the number I've read.

Maybe most are character witnesses.
