Grateful for everything he did for saints. But we don't owe him anything, he did a job for us and he got paid for it. You wouldn't leave a job and get another one and then 10 years later rock up and demand a free stuff off your previous employers would you.
I absolutely hate it when people say Cortese doesn't look at our past, did you not see when he invited a lot of the old players to the saints man united game? Or is that him ignoring the clubs past? how about still having executive suites named after club greats still? wasn't terry paine also a guest of his in the last couple of months? It's a complete and utter load of rubbish to say he doesn't embrace the past,he's just trying to run the club in the right way for the future.
I strongly suggest that Jeff Stelling should stick to making pathetic "not very funny" comments to a girl half his age on Countdown. Saints did win the FA Cup under McMenemy in 1976 & we did get promoted - that does not entitle him tofreebees for the rest of his life & also for family & friends. I pay for my families tickets every season & he should do the same - and we do not get free dinners before the game either. Matt Le Tiss was a superb player for us & one assumes he was very happy as a big fish in a smaller pond. I also assume that, by the standards of the day, he was also quite well payed for doing so. All power to Cortese,s elbow - he means business for the club & you will not find any fans critising him. Stick to what you do best Stelling - ogling Rachel Riley each day
Ironically, "give us one" is along the right lines. Then there's also the obvious and particularly brash "I'd like to get on your tits".
I'm sure some of you may remember that some months ago Matt Le Tissier set up a Twitter account, which was confirmed by other Sky employees, as well as Matt's son Mitch. Well today the account became re-activated, as Matt appeared to try and send the fans a message on his side of the story: "For the record i never have or never wanted to have free tickets from sfc hang your head in shame Nicola" http://twitter.com/#!/mattletiss7/status/117674943105335297 I think this is totally pathetic, and both parties are better keeping quiet. Obviously Matt and Jeff will say that Nicola started it by mentioned freebies but there we go. Just wish all this silly squabbling would stop and they could act like grown men rather than children in a playground. Thoughts?
I thought someone came out before Nicola saying that they didn't give MLT tickets (prior to his Sun interview)....
Le Tiss just popped on twitter and said he has never asked for free tickets and that Cortese should hang his head in shame.
Matt's son Mitch has now begun Tweeting: "You have no idea what Cortese is like. Ask Francis Benali. He's driven him to the point of despair. #corteseisscum" "Further to the Cortese argument. Dad can't say wt he really thinks. I can, the man is a sociopath and is only interested in himself." "Whatever his lies and PR company want you to believe he doesn't have the best interests at heart. He sacked Pards cos he's not a yes man."

In the end, whilst we would love everyone connected with Saints to be perfect human beings, the only thing that matters to us is how Saints are doing on the pitch. Our club was saved from oblivion, a great manager was appointed, we top the League, and are financially sound.
Because: A) It's not about Jeff Stelling. / B) It's a direct quote from the Le Tissier's / C) not everyone wants to trawl page after page.
