Seems pretty plain to most people.

  • Shopping for basic necessities, as infrequently as possible
  • One form of exercise a day - for example a run, walk, or cycle - alone or with members of your household
  • Any medical need, to provide care or to help a vulnerable person
  • Travelling to and from work, but only where this is absolutely necessary and cannot be done from home
He added: "That's all - these are the only reasons you should leave your home.
Can you work from home in your job?

Can we put the dogs in the car to go to Horsell Common and take them for a walk so they and we get some exercise?

No, therefore it is absolutely necessary for me to leave the house and travel to work, are you beginning to understand now?

You and about 20 million others then.

Using buses, trains, cars etc.

So apart from not being able to go to the shops, barring the ones that sell food, that have queues round the block.

And only being able to go outside to exercise once a day lol (if we wear a disguise like a false moustache and a hat do you reckon we can get away with walking the dog twice?)

Not seeing the succinct message here tbh.

So what do we reckon or longer? 2/3 months....or longer?
Probably around 2 months. We will now have family's locked indoors together with many already carrying the virus but showing no symptoms, in two weeks time they will be fine but will probably have passed it on to other members of the household meaning another few weeks wait until no members are showing any sign of the virus and the transmission date is long gone.
Then the lockdown will be lifted.

I know things are great with hindsight, because even I was complacent back in January but some of that was due to the Governments reaction to it, they weren't panicking, so why should I. My thoughts were we are an Island, that creates no border difficulties, you just close up shop. BUT it never happened, people were still freely walking into the UK unchecked. Now 3 months on we are in lockdown, but as someone mentioned earlier, the horse has bolted! Too little, too late. As Italy proved with the South, if you control the movement and look after your boundaries, events like this would never be felt on the scale we see today. It's like the Great Fire of London, if you build your houses without boundaries, then you are going to burn in hell. I'm all for freedom of movement as long has you know what your letting in. But if people think this will be all over in 3 weeks, then you live in cloud cuckoo land.

As a household, yes. That would be classed as your one excercise per day (don't mingle with others though <grr>)
Can I take the dogs out and then she takes them out later? What if our number plate gets clocked by the police twice?

It's like any situation Comm and this will be no different, a few people will use the virus to screw the system in some way. But what do we expect when we see groups such a Virgin Atlantic sticking their hat in the ring, that's what I call taking the piss.

Then let's do it all again next year because nobody will have any resistance to it <ok>

The thing you seemed confused about was if people could leave the house for work, if you require further help with the instructions i will do my best line by line as you ask (boredom permitting)
