I'm not saying you did say that.
I still think its a fairly obvious thing for them to do though under the circumstances.
I stopped giving blood when they changed the system to appointments only and not just turn up. I was cancelled 3 times in a row, so fuk um
If you have type A blood you are ****ed, as more die from the virus than O type blood groups

Also, he’s always said it was a pandemic apparently, does that include when he was calling it a Democrat hoax? Asking for a Nation.

Clever people on the telly keep saying that we have to try and minimise social interaction so I’ve decided not to send the kids to school til next term. We’re not supposed to eat in restaurants but kids going to school is somehow ok? The clincher was my son’s best mate telling us his mum has had a positive test result.

I remember a time when a senior politician telling demonstrable lies actually had a consequence. He takes opposite stances on basically everything at some point based on what he thinks makes him look best. It’s ridiculous how often it happens! It’s mental that he’s the president and that he may even become a two term president!
Keeping kids at school means no gap (or less of a gap) in their education, continuation of breakfast clubs and free school meals for those who need them and the ability for parents to continue working provided they are in jobs where they can and less chance of grandparents having to get involved with child care. It makes complete sense why they aren’t closing schools yet, though inevitably at some point I’m sure they’ll have to.
Good for you that you’re in a position where you can take kids out of school without having to deal with those issues but for a lot of people and society as a whole there’s plenty of reasons to keep schools open while we can.
Not sure how I’d react in the same situation if it was my own kid and there was a confirmed case at the school though, probably the same as you!

Whilst we’ve got national advice that says we shouldn’t go to the pub, but that it’s sound for people to take their kids to school, I can completely understand the confusion amongst parents.
I also understand the reasons why keeping them open has benefits, not least the fact that circa 40% of NHS and care workers have children of school age, and closing them would cause further pressure on the already stretched resources. However, there is a solution to this, and that’s to do what other countries have done, and closed schools whilst making provision for the daycare of essential workers.
