Fair enough <ok>

Some of the discussion I was listening to just now was stressing the selfish attitude of those that believe the virus will not kill them, and although this may be true in a lot of young cases, their own recklessness has led to them taking up a hospital bed that could have been used for another patient.

Genuine question here mate; where and when are these these youngsters who are taking up hospital beds suffering from Corona?

I haven't heard anything along these lines. At all.

It flies in the face of everything being reported to be honest, and of how this virus affects age groups.

Letter drop update: an old dear at the end of the street has got in touch to say that she doesn't have the internet/email so was grateful we made contact. She's now been added to the street's support contact list. I wonder whether she has any spare bog roll.

I've just happened upon some in Tesco in Newport, not too far a drive that is it?

I only went in for a bottle of Malbec but bought a pack of toilet roll for good measure.

I also bought the solitary pack of dried penne that happened to be there.

Felt insane doing it.

The Chief Medical Officer was making clear his concerns today, about the young thinking they are safe, on the whole they will be, but there will be some who are still at risk, and as we don't know who those people may be, everyone should be following the instructions/guidance given. It was also stressed if they are only ill, but taking up a hospital bed, that's one less bed for someone else. Basically he said it's putting unneeded pressure on the NHS.

ps. I forgot to add, he said also people are spreading it, by not heeding the guidance, and the youngsters will be the carriers or something like that.

I shared this earlier.
Younger people do not die, but a significant number do end up in hospital.

Today Boris sounded to me like he was basically saying “I don’t want to have to go for a full lockdown so can you all please ****ing listen to the advice we’ve given you so that I don’t have to!”

Relying on people to do what they’re being asked. If it works and people listen it’ll at least have less effect on the economy. If people don’t listen it might have to be enforced and then it ****s us further.

What a strange concept, requesting and expecting the British public to apply common sense and do the right thing.

He should instead be telling us all to run away and hide.

My ex works at a nursery, spoke to her on the phone today. She said people were so livid at the fact they could only accept certain children, that in the end they had to let the kids in because the parents were not relenting. So, while the nursery attempted to do what they were told, the parents simply did not give a flying **** and demanded the kids be placed there.

So, the British public in large do not give a ****.

Phil looks like a skeleton that they've hastily thrown goat skin over to pose as a living human. He genuinely scares me.

I'm sure it can effect them but it hasn't been widely reported thus. If at all.

The high risk is still clearly older, unhealthy (underlying issue etc.) folk and youngsters should be at home sleeping it off. (jokes facetiously)
One of the sciencey people flanking Johnson at the press conference today made it one of his key points ie young folk shouldn't think that this can't make them ill enough to use up a hospital bed. It can and it is which is putting unnecessary extra pressure on the NHS. I haven't been into London for months but I'm told the pubs and restaurants are still quite busy.

I saw a pic of him the other day, he looked like he had just rose from his grave. The sort of thing that would give kids nightmares.

There are now more deaths due to Covid 19 in Italy than there are in China.
That's if Chinas totals are the truth .
Theyve got more infected than theyre letting on .
Also South Korea thought they had it under control but clusters are breaking out!

Well yeah, that's pretty obvious to be fair.

Which to me is why they were probably better off being corralled at school if possible, rather than being let loose.

Oh well.

Fair point. Attention seems to have turned away from China as everyone is dealing with their own ****. Easier for them to play it down now.
