I don;t think you understand how the FDA works. A president cannot interfere in the work of scientists.
The FDA has a panel of scientists who approve, the scientists at the CDC (who are largely left leaning) also will work on this, and the eyes of every other interested scientific party is also watching the developments

If Trump somehow managed to replace all those involved, then I'd listen to that line of thought

The scientists would be the first to leak that they were being told to cut dangerous corners

I cant imagine scientists working on this are prepared to rush it and potentially kill 100s of thousands of people

In August, the FDA commissioner, Stephen Hahn, stood with the president on the eve of the Republican National Convention to announce the authorization of convalescent plasma as treatment for COVID-19. The president made misleading statements about the evidence supporting this treatment and asserted without evidence that FDA staff were holding up approvals for political reasons.

Yes Trump did rush through authorisation because the drug is well known, and there were a large portion of the medical community screaming for him to do so. It's in use for a very long time and no, not dangerous, at worst there was no effect on COVID. Studies have shown overall, either no effect or effect as a prophylactic or on early onset of infection states.

AS for the walk back, this is not a google search competition. There was a reason why it was walked back and why the WHO stopped immediately all testing of the hydroxychloroquine
Are you aware that the Lancet published a paper by a made up company with made up data showing hydroxychloroquine was dangerous and doesnt work? it was a massive scandal and the WHO canceled all research into hydroxychloroquine as a result of that fake paper the Lancet published
It is also ludicrous to even think that scientists who are very left leaning and very un-fond of Trump admin would play a part in putting out a vaccine that even if it only killed 1% of people, would be almost 4 million Americans.


The person who is going around saying it's going to be rushed and that these vaccine companies will need immunity is Bill Gates, he said it on BBC

hydroxychloroquine of course is now a generic with no patent, funny that, no one could make money off of it

There is also a massive difference between pressuring for a known safe drug to be used to try save people (the panic was extreme) especially with pressure coming from the medical community, and allegedly pressuring the release of an untested vaccine

That's just c-theory level stuff one can only believe if they don't know how the process goes in OKing a vaccine that a billion people might need to take
