I had to take a LFT before I could attend my Son's graduation last year (delayed due to covid).
It was negative.
I had to email the result and a reference number to the specified address online.
They sent me an email and text confirming that I was negative. It also showed on my NHS App.
I could easily have simply got the details from the test kit, sent off my 'negative' result and not bothered actually testing.
How many people would have done the same, or said they were negative even if it was positive?
Waste of time.
LFTs are totally reliant on trust. You can easily take one and just scrape the roof of your mouth or around the edge of your nostril and record a negative.
I've got to take one tomorrow as I'm on a training course and the instructors son is in the vulnerable category - do I fake it, or do it properly? Personally, I'll be taking the test correctly, but I also have to hope that the other delgates respect the request of the trainer. Therein lies the issues behind it all - with conflicting stories from governments and scientists, there's plenty of folk out there who don't give a **** about those who are vulnerable and carry on blindly ignoring everyone but themselves. We really have become a bunch of selfish ****s
