Whats happening up north Steels. Im due up in loch lomond in august then down to see family on the west coast

As of midnight, a lot of the country is dropping to Level 1, except those with rising cases which will remain at 2 and Glasgow which is dropping from 3 to 2. The islands are going to 0. I've been up north this week, working around the NC500 route and on Skye and it's pretty heaving with tourists. Cases are rising, but as far as I'm aware the hospitalisations have remained low.

Does anyone know if business travel is still allowed to portugal?

My brother-in-law is Portuguese, and is going tomorrow to see his mother, who lives in Lisbon - but now he's got to rush back before 4am on Tuesday so he doesn't have to isolate - nitemare!

Dido Harding, who has presided over the total victory of test and trace, wants to be the new head of the NHS after Simon Stevens retires.

Dido, as we all know, is a superb manager and strategist, and would be perfect for the job. The Baroness (she’s a Tory member of the House of Lords of course) is brilliant at making sure contracts are awarded in a transparent and open manner, to those who are truly competent and skilled. Oh, and who have donated to the Tory party.

If she gets it (I’ll keep an eye on the odds) it will be another triumph for world beating cronyism. Yay.

Surely this cant be true! When was incompetence a positive attribute to gaining a job?

Trace and Track...has been an absolute joke...add into that the "flick a coin for an answer" lateral flow test........both under Dido's watch.
She should not be asked to arrange a childrens tea party

In contrast Kate Bingham seems to have done a spiffing job on vaccine procurement. Having been given a blank cheque would have helped, though. Plus, she couldn't really go to one of Matt Hancock's mates and ask them if they were any good at vaccines.

To repeat something I have just out on euro thread...

Just to give you a heads up. The rules for volunteering at Euros has just suddenly changed.

An hour ago we just had to fill in a form saying we had no symptoms, had not been in contact with Covid, and were feeling okay.

Suddenly we need to be vaccinated and,/or have a negative lateral flow test.

Something has changed
