Did warn you all that this would happen, as you can't keep the first dose rate up as high as it was, when so many people are coming for the second dose...I asked if anyone had done the maths.

It appears that they had...so this "slow" down is actually factored in....and the final dates "every adult offered a jab before (end of) July" does take account of this.
It doesn't take account of pharma slow down though, which has happened a bit, but with a few countries declining AZ, may actually change in our favour eventually.

I have 99 problems with this government, but the vaccine roll out ain't one.
I do remember you saying that to be fair. I was just surprised how the first dose dropped so much... but it's been explained now.
Also I agree that on this roll out they have done a bloody good job.

Interesting article on how fans may or may not get back into grounds from lockdown sceptic and R's fan Toby Young. Football fans getting a raw deal so far for sure IMHO...

After New strain in India and themselves going through quite a hefty 2nd wave, wouldn't it be wise to put them on the 'red list' of countries............or would it be wiser to visit there.......over to you Boris.

It's ****ing crazy. Have they learnt any lessons at all? They'll let it spread here for a couple more weeks then put them on the list once it's too late to make a difference.

My super spreader youngest has finally managed to infect the whole household.
Having had a very serious bout of whooping cough a few years ago, this doesn’t come close.
We have all the recognised symptoms- the surprise has been the severity of aching pain in the muscles.
Especially thighs and hips.

That is absolutely terrible Danish...
How many of you have got it? I assume none of you have been vaccinated?

Hope that you all get through it okay.
Best wishes for a fast recovery.

4 in the household Beth.
The youngest was actually not bad at holding to his bubble, but two weeks ago they couldn’t resist the temptation of a mass party.
So far 26 out of the 45 have contracted COVID.
And no, none of us vaccinated.
From here the mad, drunk gambler that was Boris and his “team’ hit the jackpot at the right time.
Funny in a strange way that the final tallying will have the UK “winning “ with only the one win vs. the many earlier screw ups.

Hope you all pull through as best as possible with minimum discomfort Danish. Keep strong and best wishes.

Keep strong Danish...it shows what can happen, when your guard goes down for just one instance.

I also believe you may be right in your assessment of the situation.
The UK got one thing right ( the vaccine roll out) after a litany of major major screw ups. I hope the general public will not forget about the 100, 000 who died before the gamble the government got correct.

Any way, I hope you and all your son's friends families get through this unscathed...

Putting the political digs to one side (the procurement was a gamble, of sorts, but the roll out deserves huge credit, unlike in the EU), I wish you and yours a speedy recovery Danish.

The roll-out does deserve huge credit, primarily to the NHS and the thousands of volunteers involved.

And they could never have done it without the government support. It’s a team effort. I said many many weeks ago that the government has done a top job here.

Are you sure that the thighs and hips aren’t due to excess rowing machine action?

Get well soon matey.
