Depends on how seriously people want to take the situation. In an ideal world, a lockdown until vaccination but that wont ever happen. So I suppose we just carry on with people getting infected and some losing their lives.
We also have the usual suspects desperate to blame the government for something they are not responsible for. Every person is accountable for their own actions. Too many people have disrespected the guidelines.
So you're saying that the usual suspects are trying to blame the other usual suspects for suspecting that their suspects are usually to blame?

2 jabs 12 weeks apart means they can vaccinate more people quickly and they are Saying that gap makes your protection stronger (after 2nd jab). Sadly it takes 2-3 weeks to kick in.well happy as they are saying most can be sorted within 3-4 months.

Too many people are flouting the rules, but while politicians and celebrities break them with no consequences, then it's hardly surprising. We go walking round our local park most days at the moment, and whilst there's many couples and families, there are some large groups who are together and not from the same households - our guidelines prohibit this - we give them a wide berth as they take up most of the path.
There are either too many selfish people out there who don't give a **** about others, or the nation is truly full of thick ****ers - you decide. And it's not just here that this happens, did you see the story about the Brits beach party in Sydney? And Sydney has a big outbreak now

So should we be in an 8-week lockdown nationwide while front-line, care-workers, care homes and teachers are vaccinated (within 6-weeks). Then use the time to plan for all other vaccinations from week 6 onwards (depending upon vaccine availability).

Approved, at last, at two full doses, so 62% effectiveness and Soriot talking rubbish. Now being claimed on ‘unpublished’ data that it’s more effective with a longer, 12 week, gap between the two jabs, which is handy for the government as it means that more people can get the first jab quickly and get some measure of protection and handy for AZ as it gives it a bit more time to make more. Rest of the industry and other regulators might be scratching their heads a bit at all this and wondering whether unpublished, and non peer reviewed data is now formally permissible in the approval process in the UK. Will be interesting to see how long the FDA and EMA take to approve this vaccine. There is of course huge pressure on them to do it fast, but they might be a bit stricter. EMA started rolling review of this vaccine before it started on the Pfizer one.
Anyway, yippee, let’s get a ****ing move on because tiers, lockdowns etc aren’t working and are destroying us.
Hancock refusing to set target numbers for vaccinations by week, and saying we should be ‘out of this by spring’. The seasonal calendar again. He didn’t say spring which year.

I agree SM but if you are alluding to Cummings in some way then you are off target. Just because someone sticks their head in an oven doesn't mean I will? Cummings was a muppet but compared to what most people have done, then it looks pretty insignificant. There will be some who blame this on him (due to their political view) but he and others (celebrities) are no better or worse than the idiots who had parties and ignored the guidelines. They are all as bad as each other.
I just listen to the people that know and not Dave off of Facebook. This vaccine has be done properly and I am happy to have it.
I'm alluding to Cummings, Ferrier, Johnsons' Dad, Sturgeon, Galloway and all the other dicks who flagrantly flout the rules that I am supposed to abide by, and then they receive no punitive action. These ****s are supposed to be setting examples, yet they wonder why people have stopped giving a ****
To be honest, from a professional perspective, I am confused with the way this has happened, and within the industry, the way AZ has handled this is a bit of a joke. As soon as they published a 70% effectiveness rate which was based on an amalgamation of two different doses it looked wrong.
The Oxford virus has actually been in review for longer than the Pfizer one was, both here and by the EMA in Europe, which indicates that the data is a bit more ambiguous and difficult to interpret. That’s because of the way the studies were done and how the data was presented. The FDA looks at the raw data, not the company interpretation, so that will be interesting.
But in terms of safety I have no worries. It won’t be as effective as the Pfizer jab, and this ‘oh, we can give it three months rather than 3 weeks between jabs’ needs published data behind it because it’s just too convenient. A single dose should, at least, help stop people developing serious disease, and I would be keen to get it if the alternative is nothing. But it won’t stop everyone from getting serious disease (there might be data on this buried within the trials somewhere) and I don’t think it will necessarily slow the spread of the virus and it might encourage riskier behaviour if people think they have immunity.

A lot of people are suppose to set examples... footballers are a good example of this, but would I follow what a footballer does? No I do what I do and I am responsible for my own actions. Just because all these 2222's break the rules doesn't mean that we all follow them like sheep? Although I would agree that some may say "f22k it, if they can do it so can I". If we all acted like that we would be in a real mess.
It wasn't just what Cummings did, though. It was Johnson and all his Cabinet queueing up to defend it that did the damage.
This government are delighted to have saps like you blaming the public for the spread of the virus rather than their own utter failure on Test, Track and Trace.
You might not, I might not, but others may see it as license to do whatever they like as there is no punishment. Cummings and others should be losing their positions over this ****, but as Strolls said above, they were too busy finding ways to defend him, which sends out the wrong message to the proles. He wasn't the first to **** up, but at least Catherine Calderwood had the nous to resign, even though Sturgeon also gave her backing.
Anyway, enough of the blame game - let's hope the AZ/Oxford vaccine is the game changer they predict. Surely Hancock can't **** up the rollout of this, they've had months to prepare for it....
