Good point about the future work opportunities in Canada and the Antipodes
I knew CANZUK was well on its way but Andrew Bridgen reckons a year and a free movement/work thing will be in place. What a fab opportunity for people. I always thought when ex Oz Prem Abbott was getting involved, it would happen.

The heat is a big issue and I don't think most Brits acclimatise well. I used to go annually to Oz (Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide) and timed my visit for our autumn/ their spring when the weather was actually very pleasant down there.

Yes, the box jelly fish could do you some damage. And I remember having a very civilised lunch in Melbourne with a lawyer who said he was avoiding one part of his garden at the moment because he had seen a poisonous snake there. You forget about that element of danger when you're in one of the Oz cities. Then there are the funnel web spiders that hide under loo seats... I'm happy to be in the UK and can handle the odd nettle sting!
Not forgetting Red Backs and Croc’s! Agree when I visit I never think about all those creepy things.

Nice one mate. Let’s hope all this works so we can back to normality
I'm a bit worried about this whole thing of vaccination - the minute that the theme hit the media the number of new cases started rising again, as if people were relaxing their guard because of it. If the mindset behind this is that they are going to protect the vulnerable so that the others can get on with their normal lives then we can expect an explosion of new cases amongst the non vaccinated part of the population.

Just to prove that Macron and some other European countries are playing politics on this lorries issue, I just read on a Spanish website that Spain is also not allowing UK citizens to travel to Spain for the moment. But, they are allowing Spanish citizens in the UK to travel home for Christmas. The same as France who are allowing French and EU citizens to cross the channel but not UK citizens. Of course, Macron and Pedro Sanchez are best of buddies.

This is shameless politicising of the issue by both Spain and France at a time when everybody is trying to get a deal on Brexit. As a proud EU citizen, for them to do this at Christmas and during a pandemic is sickening. Ashamed of both of those countries and of both Macron and Sanchez.
Where is the problem here ? It is perfectly normal to close borders at times like this, and also normal that you will allow your countrymen to return home at such a time - in order to avoid them being stranded. Germany and the Czech Republic did exactly the same - closed the border but allowed their countrymen home.

I hope the rise is just to do with people being in closer contact with others doing Christmas shopping, Christmas work and other partying, meeting more friends and family around Christmas.

Yeah some people never learn. Myself, family and friends made sacrifices at Christmas. My Mrs and I drove to her elderly fathers with a plate of food On Christmas Day. She put it on the side and spoke from 20 feet away and it didn’t help as he is deaf and can hardly hear. She was in tears and Christmas wasn’t the same having the old sod over. I didn’t get to see my son or my sister who would always be over for the day. Instead of 7-8 of us it was just my Mrs and I.
The rules are quite clear but sadly you will always get those who break them or are just stupid.

If anyone can be arsed. Yes it’s also terrible that people got a train home hours before it became against the rules to do so.

Did you hear about all the GB skiers who left a Swiss resort in the middle of the night as it was about to go into lockdown due to an outbreak.

Not a great advert

I love his excuse, 'giving the club publicity'. He'll get no mercy from the Nationalists he's been calling out for months...

I am hoping that we get snow and shed loads of it in the next few weeks. This will mean that people stay in - usually a couple of flakes brings the whole transport to a stop but it will reduce the risk of passing Covid on as long as people stay in doors and only go out side for food, exercise or fresh air. Having seen Bournemouth packed today (didn't realise that soooo many down here couldn;'t catch this virus), I am getting somewhat p155ed on with the idiot few that think they are immune. If only Covid attacked the stupid, then this would rid he world of a few idiots but it doesn't.
I hope you and your loved ones can all stay safe.
My 80 year old parents get their injection on Wednesday, they have been extremely frightened going out, and I got a message from a friend mine yesterday which said simply said Long Covid - had it 10 months.
