Look I didn’t vote the torries in or any body else at the election, yes they’ve made mistakes & should’ve acted quicker & also lockdown sooner & a full lockdown, shut the borders like other countries, sorted out the health care, but they didn’t & no one new the devastation of this virus would bring, I’m sure when this eventually dies down they will hold there hands up & admit their mistakes.
But to keep going on about this day after day is boring

Not a ****ing chance.

My first day of wearing a mask on the tube today and I found it rather unpleasant and restricting, so I've decided that, as it's really only to protect other people from me, I don't need to have my nose covered. Much easier to breathe. There were a few people who hadn't bothered to wear one at all, which I rather admired. If that continues, I'll stop too.

apparently

If you don't feel comfortable wearing a mask on public transport, simply don't wear it and if challenged say that under Part 1 Section 4 (a) of The Health Protection (CV, Wearing of Face Coverings on Public Transport) you are exempt as they cause you severe anxiety.

Dont ****ing read it then jeff.

Let's hope a 2nd wave doesnt come. This government have ****ed up so much already that even Tory Tarquin wont be able to forgive them.

Thanks for test feedback. Living with two 80 year olds that are concerned about going out, I thought maybe I should get tested. Will think about this.
Cheers

Westwindsr hates comparing countries so has sent two sleeper agents to me
They will not be leaving here soon

I love comparing countries. All us left-wing self-loathing Brits do.

But I was going to post this about the gammon pied piper being increasingly called out. Fair play to him he’s found a huge and devoted audience.

After more than 9 weeks, l finally got a call to do some work.
I feel like a kid starting school for the first time.
Hope the good lady packs me some play lunch!
Hope l can remember how to hold a hammer and plaster tools again.
Hope the body doesn’t object and spit the dummy.
Thinking l will be good for 4 hours tops and starting going downhill from there on.
Probably have to fake it the last hour or two.
If only l could work 4 hours and get paid for 8. I guess l can try tomorrow.
Wish me luck!

New Zealand report two new cases...both new visitors from GB

In good news...cheap and already licenced drug dexamethasone cuts death rate of people on ventalators by a third and those on Oxygen by a fifth...

Just saw that on the lunchtime news. I see it's a steroid and therefore comes with the usual side effects so I imagine it will be used sparingly in hospital to avoid the prospect of recovering patients getting aggressive with their carers. It does make you wonder though why it has taken so long to find this out for a drug already widely used and available. Too much emphasis on 'world beating' this and that. Could we start off with 'steady and reliable' or 'tried and tested'. Not as sexy a headline I know but then neither is the man who writes the soundbites, our Dom.

This is absolutely nothing to do with the government. This is pure clinical research.
As people got ill, the doctors tried different drugs that they thought would possibly do things...like antivirals and anti inflammatories (like dexamathasone) and the antimalarials (some of which work in autoimmune diseases)...and watched to see if they worked. Some seemed to work so they put these drugs into a trial...the RECOVERY trial in this country, which I told you all about 3-4 weeks ago, and compared scientifically and statistically.
Those are the results that are being released today.

This is clinical research, nothing to do with the government, they did not instigate this at all. This is just good doctors doing it the right way....which means the results mean something and are useful in the future.
