Turns out a public school-built stiff upper lip doesn’t make you immune. Was always a 50-50 call.

Im sure Katie Price’s disabled son might disagree but that’s comedy, eh?
But I guess that opens up a whole new debate about what should and shouldn’t be laughed at.

Laughing at disabled children is a deliberate act

Nobody I know supports policies that kill disable people. You might just as well say, some support policies that bomb Iraqi children or support terrorists that kill Jewish civilians

But that’s what jokes are about.......someone slipping on a banana is someone less fortunate but I might laugh at a joke about it.
There was a very interesting programme a while back about how far can a joke go. You had a Jewish fella saying it was ok to joke about black people but the Holocaust is a step too far.......but a black person said the holocaust was fair game but racist jokes are a no-no......some argued both were ok...some argued none were ok.
As Bracknell said.....comedy is all subjective.

Partly true. It's up to an individual to decide where they draw the line based on their moral values. But I think there is also an objective test. What would the man on the Clapham omnibus (to use a past legal test of the "average, reasonable man") think. Nowadays, that test would find that jokes about the Holocaust and slavery for example, were not acceptable. And I suspect, disabled children would be included too.
