Come on Sooper, they're doing their best.
I'm seriously beginning to wonder, there's just an air of incompetence particularly in the supply chain...
Come on Sooper, they're doing their best.
I missed this.Just heard that my niece, who is a nurse caring for Alzheimer’s patients in Madrid, has tested positive for antibodies, She had the disease and isolated at the beginning of March before going back to work. I’ve seen pictures, she had big PPE.
The Spanish have an antibody test! But we have a plan to get an antibody test, as well as plans to get PPE, ventilators and a vaccine, so **** them.
What the ****? I must have written that seriously badly. She’s in good nick, see my response to Ninesy.I missed this.
Sorry to hear this Sb . I wish her the best.![]()

Off a lorry round the back of Shepherds Bush market innit. We've got 3.5 million antibody tests.
Off a lorry round the back of Shepherds Bush market innit.

Off a lorry round the back of a Wuhan wet market innit.
What SB is saying is that the Spanish are already testing for immunity.
She )(Stan neice) had the virus, gone back to work....and has now been tested for antibodies and she is immune.
That is good news for her.....but wtf for us in UK
Why have the Spanish got an antibody test and we haven't.
The UK government have not been in on the EU planning for this, and now seems we have missed out on the rolling out of the antibody test.
What the +++ ....is going on
Germany have contact testing in place, as well as a huge number of antigen testing per day, and are now saying their pandemic is undercontrol
Spain are Antigen and Antibody testing
We are nowhere near 100,000 tests per day
We are missing our deadlines on PPE
We have no antibody test
And we are claiming to set up a new institute that already exists
Silly question possibly.
Can we ever know we are indefinitely immune or does the antibody test just prove we have had immunity to this point?
A few years back my cousin went into hospital and caught pneumonia. It left him with scarring on his lungs. later he succumbed to a lung illness which finally got the better of him.I would think those that have been seriously ill yet survived may have suffered damage to their lungs that would leave them vulnerable if a variant of the virus appeared. The recuperation period for many is months and in South Korea there have been over 150 cases of re-infection, whether that is a result of faulty testing the first time is open to conjecture but this is a new disease we don't know enough about to be sure. China has much to answer for...
Do they have the chops to deliver in the timescales they have been talking about Beth? I have to confess that the level of testing and trialling in a vaccine that could be offered outside a trial setting by September leaves me a little nervous, but if you rate this team I will.Tonights briefing...we are going to open a Vaccine centre in Harwell !!! (FH!!!)
Sarah Gilberts lab, who are already getting ready to phase 1 test Covid19 vaccines on healthy controls, have already got vaccine production facilities in both Oxford and Harwell (which is 30 minutes down the road from Oxford).
Sarah Gilbert, Peter Beverly and Adrian Hill set this up years ago.
This is not you doing it you government @@@@...it is our brilliant scientists setting this up years ago
This is the forethinking of MRC, Wellcome etc in setting up the Jenner institute. This is nothing to do with the current government, who do not want to waste money on UK Science.
Yes I am annoyed, really annoyed
C'mon beth we have those new badges!!What SB is saying is that the Spanish are already testing for immunity.

No she’s fine mate, had it, all good, back at work. Positive for antibodies means you have some level of immunity. She’s only 23. I was trying to point out that the Spanish are doing stuff that we can’t simply by testing for antibodies.. Though they’ve had a mare with the disease to date.
Well I’ve just read the the WHO are saying that having antibodies doesn’t equate to having immunity.I'm sorry, I must've misread it. I was just about to go and sit down to eat and got the wrong gist of it.
woooo! Hang on a minute chaps... are we saying that Majiid Nawaz the LBC and Sky presenter was an extremist?
