You get it, I get it, but it only works effectively if just about everybody gets it and acts accordingly. Round here most people seem to be trying hard, but even yesterday I retreated down an alley to allow a couple with two young kids on bikes past me at a decent distance, and they went out of their way, or so it seemed to me, to avoid controlling their kids and get as close as they could to me. When I (gently, in line with new avoid conflict policy) pointed out that we were meant to be at a safe distance the response was ‘oh yeah sorry, forgot’. When you are dealing with a significant number of idiots, the rules need to be enforced. If a significant number of people act like children, they need to be treated like children, whatever Peter Hitchens thinks.

To be honest I have been walking the dog twice a day, but the late evening walk is so quiet we rarely see anyone, let alone get within 2 metres of them. Now his paw is knackered I’ll have to think of another excuse.

But there has clearly been some stupidity on the part of some of the boys in blue. Not seen any examples of it around here. A mates 21 year old son was stopped driving into town the other night, and asked where he was going, but we reckon that’s because he was driving his dads Jag.

Actually, I believe he thinks just that.

It is not man made by anyone, bobmid.

When you modify a virus, and in my previous life I have (many biochemists have nowadays, it is very easy to do, you can buy kits) when you insert bits to make it more dangerous or to alter the host it binds to, you leave a "signature" of how you did it.
This virus was sequenced in January by WHO (World Health Organisation not by the Doctor) and they published the sequence on line so lots of people could make a vaccine and tests against this viral sequence. It has no "signatures" of a man made or man altered virus.

That is definately a myth

Bloody hell fair play to what they have done to that Excel building. What was it 4-5 days ago that it was an empty space? Have you seen it now with all the beds lights and medical equipment in? <applause>

This was 2 days ago and now looks even more fitted out.

Think it was an idiot who posted a video about how best to punch your wife/gf if she gets mouthy whilst in isolation. I assume it was meant as a joke but it was ****ing stupid and he deserves what he gets. Your mate Piers shared it on the Twitter.

To be fair, Piers Morgan absolutely condemned it on Twitter

Uncle update: stable, but still on oxygen (which presumably means ventilator?)
Might be on a simpler machine called a Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) oxygen pumped through a face mask. Apparently 50% of people on these don’t need heavier ventilator intervention. UCH, UCL and some F1 teams (definitely Mercedes and McLaren) have got together to design really simple CPAP machines, which have passed regulation, and will be building a thousand a day by this time next week if trials go well.

Hat doffed.

So was that your dog who 'acted' in the viral photo that has done the rounds swearing at his owner in protest at the prospect of yet another f'ing walk?

I see the underground tubes are still packed like sardines, no wonder London has the highest rate in the country, obviously some are just not bothered at what effect the virus has & prepared to pass it on, idiots

They've cut the number of trains running which has negated the drop in passengers. They should run peaktime schedules as normal and cut off peak on the busy lines. They have passenger info at the touch of a button, no excuses...
