If we are not careful, your lads case being a prime example, this is gonna effect majorly entire generations for years to come.
I know that first year exams in some universities have been scrapped and the students given a free pass to the second year, unless they have been disastrously poor on course work. Great, until you hear that medical students, who I would like to be rigorously tested, are included.

I know that going to university is a privilege and feeling sorry for students is a bit naff, but I do feel sad for my daughter, in the second year, who after I pick her up next week probably won’t go back this academic year as teaching has moved online, and her year has already been disrupted by lecturer strikes over pensions. It’s just a shame that a short but significant life experience which should be fun as well as education is being restricted. She didn’t sign up to a distance learning course and doubtless we will still have to pay her rent. Nothing of course compared to those losing jobs etc, but still a bit sad.

I think I shoplifted a can of Coke once when I was about 12. Wouldn’t think twice about swiping those if they’re going to charge a score.

Sweet jesus talk about community spirit and looking out for each other. 6 supermarkets I visited for my elderly mother today in search of a roll of loo paper! Still came home empty handed. Looks like its each for their own out there! Some really selfish bastards!

Not been out today but for every inevitable selfish story I’ve heard some really nice ones. Might venture to a 24 hour Tesco later on the off chance of topping up a couple of things I’m low on but really can’t be arsed nor want to mix too much with the hoi polloi.

Good. Pretty tired anyway and nothing I desperately need. Had a meeting with a retailer today which reassured me a lot about the availability of loo roll and stuff. It’s all in the supply chain but will take time. Relies on people not losing their **** and bulk-buying at every opportunity but surely most people can only do that for so long anyway.

An important point here:
A mass switch to kitchen roll or baby wipes from hard to find toilet roll could easily cause the sewage pipes near your homes to become blocked, and chaos will ensue, eventually causing more disease and disruption.

no supermarket here keeps stocks of toilet paper
takes up too much storage space
they just rely on trucks turning up every second day with new supply
normally works

That is exactly what I said to the Mrs this morning......this will effect us all.

Probably cheaper to buy half a dozen copies of The Sun...

As I said last night.......if what happened at my local store is happening country wide I’m hardly surprised. It was a near riot situation with people just walking out with trolly fulls without paying.

The British Establishment have spent decades dismantling the English culture.

The same British Establishment now wants you all to pull together.

The spirit of the Blitz.

That spirit was broken long ago.

Will it every return?

I doubt it.

I blame that old witch Thatcher for making us into a ‘me, me, me’ society.....that’s where it all started going wrong.

Went out to the shops this morning with my kids before the midday curfew kicked in across France. Only allowed out now to go to the shops or for exercise. I'll be exercising lots with the kids just to stay sane. The shopping madness has spread to here though...lines outside our local supermarket and massive queue at the tills. I got to the front of the line and the lady on the till rolled her eyes and said, 'we are open tomorrow too if people need things.' Lots of toilet paper on the shelves here though so people haven't gone completely mad.
