Woody do you know what?................... There is a method in your madness. I cannot knock or mock you on this because I have witnessed weird things of late. That bloke on the internet that discussed liberties only for it to be taken down? Bloody hell the amount of stuff on YouTube which is utter bollox manages to stay... yet an interesting thought-provoking thing gets taken down? All this crap about Google letting the government know where you are FFS! strange times we live in.
Weird about the video being taken down. Do you remember the things he said? I wanted to urge Beth to listen to it and comment.

Neil Ferguson from Imperial College needs to keep his mouth shut.

Look at that another day, still 135 people recovered in UK, still 163 in critical condition.

5G is, last I knew, untested in its biological effects on humans, animal, insect life etc. Requires lots of trees to be felled to facilitate clear line of sight required for use. Has been criticised heavily by some health ministers of EU countries.

Is there any reason to believe it is potentially more harmful to human life than 4G?

It’s about blood flow to the head. If you are not used to it 5G can cause you to pass out. The higher the G the bigger the impact - a fighter aircraft accelerating vertically can reach 9G.

Hang on, I may have misread this discussion.......

From the little I’ve heard, it’s not simply 3G, 4G, 5G, but that it’s a different technology. I haven’t looked into it too much but I know there are concerns, mainly with the lack of testing that’s been carried out, which may or may not be the reason the BBC report tells us that there’s no proven negative effects.

I know that various councils have challenged its roll out in the UK as has the health minister in Belgium.

Well I wasn't suggesting that hand-washing could be enforced, it's just something that we should do more often anyway and the publicity campaign will hopefully have had an impact there.

It seems to me that most of us are going to get this virus at some point this year anyway, and the lockdown is just designed to avoid us all getting it at once. The number of fatalities will be little different. Millions will have already had it and will be immune, there's no reason for them to remain in isolation, other than the fact that we can't yet identify them.

My aunt died last night. It was very much expected - she was late eighties, in a care home and suffering from dementia and other conditions. I don't know yet if she will be a Covid-19 statistic, but it doesn't really matter does it? The worst thing for me and the rest of her family is that we won't be able to go to her funeral.

Deepest sympathy Stroller.

I hope that when this is all over , you can all get together and then give her a proper send off.

Too many people with too much time on their hands spreading absolute tosh.

The mobile phone industry is governed by ICNIRP, the International Commission on Non-Ionising Radiation Protection. This regulates the power we are allowed to transmit out of an antenna, and what frequencies we can use.

Here's a good place to start...

https://www.icnirp.org/en/applications/5g/index.html

All this talk of radiation is rubbish - mobile towers transmit Non-Ionising radiation. This is drastically different to Ionising radiation, which is highly dangerous and can heat up the molecules deep within your body.

We are getting daily reports of engineers being abused on site, threatened, and infrastructure vandalised/torched. In the current climate we are trying to increase the connectivity of the nation as everyone at home (school kids, workers, isolators) are very dependant upon their devices to keep in touch with school friends, colleagues and family.

In the UK, we are using much lower frequencies than other countries (typically 3.4GHz - 3.6GHz) so talk of us mutating people with 60GHz antenna is absolute pish

The WHO seem relaxed about it so long as it's not overused by anyone. The sun is more harmful, so don't stay out too long in the sun. Same with mobile phones presumably.

So even more so worth taking the gamble on shares going up once this is over ?

Spoke to my pension advisor during the week and he said that cash flow allowing I should still pay the monthly contribution as this would allow for a greater number of units to be purchased and would then show greater increase when upturn comes...….

Be interesting to see if the Huawei deal goes through. I hope it doesn't because the name is a nightmare to say and spell.

As I've said before on another thread, the roll-out of Huawei is in full flow, and there doesn't seem to any sign of it slowing. It will cost the Operators billions to replace if it does get pulled.

Nokia and Ericsson are quite a way behind the developers at Huawei (they employ 150,000 people in China, where else would you get those figures of employment?)
