That's what I've been saying but letting all the people with the virus fly in, doesn't level out the peak, it caused it.
 
So now you’re chief medical officer says uk is a week behind Italy. Last Thursday he said you were a month behind Italy. Clearly making a great job of it
 
Nice touch from our local Iceland store, we have a large out of town one and a smaller one in the town centre. On Wednesday morning 9.00 -11.00 after the shelves have been restocked , they are opening the town centre one to over 65's only, enabling them to shop in peace, without the hussle and bussle most stores have seen around here since Friday, it's honestly been worse than Christmas.

Just looked it up on the HMRC site and also Citizens advice, we can't lay anyone off without pay unless it is in their contract (which it isn't). We can lay them off with full pay which defeats the object..... Reading that companies like Virgin can just ask staff to take 8 weeks is infuriating. I guess they're saying take the 8 weeks off or you won't have a job to come back to. Might try that approach and see where it gets us.

Worrying times for all and I told you there was no time to plan for it although I did expect another 3-4 weeks :(

Daughter-In-Law told us she was pregnant at the weekend, I've just messaged her asking where she is and has she seen the news, she said no she doesn't watch or listen to any of it as it is too depressing. There are going to be a lot of shocked people tonight getting home from work and finding out what is going on.

Well just tell the staff to sign on for however long as you will go under, they will prefer to have a job after than no job or pay now.

You obviously weren’t paying attention Scuttery:

Previously the government believed Britain was four weeks behind Italy - which has been brought to its knees - but Prof Vallance said it looked like the UK was 'more like three weeks' behind.

I thought he said three but it's been a stressful day so wondered if I'd misheard
