SKY news have sent their A team to "report from the front line of the climate disaster" Madagascar and Brazil.
The UK is responsible for 1% CO2 Emissions. Its population is 68.4 million
So my bit is 1% divided by 68.4 million
Can I make a difference?
No
Doesn't mean I shouldn't try but I also have a sense of perspective.
I've managed 2 since 2017, 1 to Corfu and an hours jaunt from Leven, which was a present.all the flights we take
i wouldn’t say she is uneducated as she speaks bloody good English. I’m not a fan of urban warriors/activists
but at least she has the younger generation interested even if she if she is front of shop for others to script. Sometimes for some reason people get shoved in the front as a mouthpiece and get stuck there. I think this may be the case of well I can’t get off the train now.
Every one of the 20,000 delegates had to be security vetted, there's 10,000 police on duty in Glasgow every day for twelve days and they're not all in the same hotels, Biden's not even staying in Glasgow due to security concerns.
There's over 100,000 flights a day worldwide, 400 planes bringing people to a two week conference aimed at tackling world climate change is neither here nor there, it's a complete red herring.
its not a red herring - it’s about leadership & setting the right example
If they were going there to actually do something I would be less critical but it's just another talking shop.
It's a good start but he can obviously afford to pledge a lot more.Amazon founder Jeff Bezos announces a $2 billion pledge allocated directly to restoring nature, as part of a $10 billion commitment to tackle climate change.
She is 18 (19 in January), so not considered a child.Picking on a child for wanting to make all of our future's better is proper sad.
its not a red herring - it’s about leadership & setting the right example
She is though. Plus in her case, chronological age is not the only determining factor. She is 18 (19 in January), so not considered a child.
Boris could definitely have travelled by train though. The office of the US president is not permitted to take a commercial flight (any plane he gets on becomes Air Force One and nobody but his staff is permitted on it), the same applies many other world leaders, it's a complete red herring.
I’m off to Tenerife in January for some serious discussions about this climate change malarkeyits not a red herring - it’s about leadership & setting the right example
Boris could definitely have travelled by train though.
Agreed. I just read somewhere that our pensions fund a higher CO2 emittal than the UK's carbon footprint. The government making internal flights cheaper is certainly more damaging and daft than how the delegates turned up for this conference.
Yeah I understand she said that too. She’s clearly a bit more than that. I would rather listen to experts to be honest. She herself says she's uneducated, partly due to her condition and partly due to her lack of school attendance. Her words confirm this.
