everytime....I watched a few of the palace games where he either played or came on....the first thing he done, make sure the hairs in place. Me and the lad always say when he's injured , " That he must have had a bad hair day."

It was around £8m. I used to listen to Century phone in with Gatesy etc. And they were categorically told by the c,but that the fee was £8m. Announced it on the show to which Malcolm MacDonald was very impressed.
loads of press releases read £10m + but SAFC paid £8m and add ins were down to England call ups, club goals and other things which never even nearly materialised!

He's never scored goals anywhere he's been. I doubt he's banged in double figures in a season before and he's never played for about 15 months.

I thought Sheff Wed would take a punt on him, two pretty productive loan spells there while he was still contracted to us.
Just had a look, the first one he only scored once in six games, the second he was prolific and scored eight in eleven.
Aye we never paid the full whack he had to play for England and score 25 goals if I recall right.
I think we paid a wedge over the £6mill when we stayed up.
According to Wiki it's 52 goals in 248 games across 13 seasons as a pro.
His highest seasonal goals return has been 9 in 41 games playing the Championship with Ipswich (the season before we bought him).
