Enjoyed the footballers lifestyle without ever really enjoying the football it seems. One little purple patch with us that kept us up but largely nothing else. Hes had a **** run with injuries but if the crack about him loving to party are true hes probably not helped himself in that regard.
Don't forget the injurys to his hair....Me and my lad noticed everytime he went down from a challenge the first thing he did when he got up was make sure his hair was immaculate...

Another waster and wage thief. One we got off lightly with for once.
Just a £5M loss on the transfer. :emoticon-0106-cryin
He played 74 games and scored 11 goals.
We probably paid him more than Palace too <doh>

His three seasons at Ipswich town yielded 15 goals in 72 appearances, his exploits in the EFL Championship led to a move to Premier League club Sunderland who signed the youngster to a four-year deal for a fee of £12 million. The striker scored his first and only Premier League goal of his debut season to aid the Black Cats to a 2-2 draw against Aston Villa. A lack of games forced the striker to look for opportunities elsewhere and he'd spend bits and parts of the next two seasons on loan to EFL Championship side Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds United. The Englishman would be recalled from loan halfway through the 2013/14 season to bolster Sunderland's depleted firepower in a bid to avoid relegation. On 16 April he scored a brace in a 2-2 draw against Manchester City, three days later he'd score Sunderland's first in a 2-1 win over Chelsea, and on 27 April he scored two more in a 4-0 win over Cardiff City, proving instrumental in the Black Cat's late surge to survive relegation. On August 2014 the Englishman signed a five-year contract with Crystal Palace for a fee of £7 million

In May 2019 the striker signed a contract with Crystal Palace that nets him a whopping salary of 3.5 Million Euro (3.1 Million Pound) per year. We have crunched the numbers, this means he earns €17,351 (£15,330) per day and €723 (£639) per hour!

We never paid £12m for him. It was £8m plus add-ons. Add-ons he never came close to triggering

I thought it was something like 6 million, rising to 12, that we bought him for.
It was around £8m. I used to listen to Century phone in with Gatesy etc. And they were categorically told by the c,but that the fee was £8m. Announced it on the show to which Malcolm MacDonald was very impressed.

loads of press releases read £10m + but SAFC paid £8m and add ins were down to England call ups, club goals and other things which never even nearly materialised!

We bought him for 8 million and sold him for 9 million, mate. We somehow turned a profit on him.

He's never scored goals anywhere he's been. I doubt he's banged in double figures in a season before and he's never played for about 15 months.

I thought Sheff Wed would take a punt on him, two pretty productive loan spells there while he was still contracted to us.

Just had a look, the first one he only scored once in six games, the second he was prolific and scored eight in eleven.

According to Wiki it's 52 goals in 248 games across 13 seasons as a pro.
His highest seasonal goals return has been 9 in 41 games playing the Championship with Ipswich (the season before we bought him).
