Ideally, we'd hold onto him long enough that we are the PL club he ends up playing for. I'd like to see us get him on a decent new contract to reflect his value, maybe with terms that say he can go for X fee if we're not promoted in the next few years. Whether he'd accept it is another matter of course, but I'd like to think something could be sorted out with our new ambition.

I wouldn't disagree with that, I have just got the feeling that someone, maybe Brentford if they retain their EPL status might come in with an offer we can't refuse. It's then a case of, could the money be well spent to improve us in 3 or 4 areas?

I wonder whether the call up actually goes in our favour for KLP staying. Playing for us has been no barrier to the call up so that removes one driver for wanting to play for a “bigger” team.

it comes down to whether he’s better off staying with us for a guaranteed starting place every match, or whether he feels he’s reached the limit of where the coaching here can take him and he needs to train and play alongside players better than him to stretch himself. And who we bring in in the summer will be a factor in that I guess.

I hope he stays. Acun and Shota should be selling him the dream of staying and getting to the PL with us.

That touches on the flip side of his call up.
Great recognition and experience for him. Flip side being that it means Shota and PVDV are denied the opportunity of this 2 weeks window working intensively with him.

I hope he stays another season the owner has already said a top 6 finish is the aim next season and recruitment will match that ambition.
He supports City and he is very young with a long career ahead of him in the top flight hopefully with us.

If you're offered much better money and a better contract...

You go. It's as simple as that.

How many players, fans of the club or not have turned down the chance to go home to the Missus and tell them they could've signed for whoever but wanted to play for their club?

She'd cut it your balls off!
