All footballers are in it for the money and all want to play at the highest level, we've gone for strikers currently playing in the champions league with Rangers because we've got ambition. As for Maynard if he signs a new contract your board have done very well keeping him ,if he decides to run his contract down then your club will get little or no money for him but he will get a massive signing on fee with someone else.
I'm not bitter we didn't get him I would have like to seen him sign but we've got a quality side which once gelled I think will do very well in this league .

And you have signed a left back who was an epic failure at Leicester, and even struggled at League One Walsall. Oh, and he's 5th choice left back at Man City.

Now jog on matey, you're embarrassing yourself <ok>

<laugh> these lot made I laugh with their comments over this some like

"Maynard wants to join us, he will sign"

"He'll sign with us tomorrow"

"we're coming to get him"

<rofl> <rofl> <rofl>

Not me - or should I say "Not I" - never wanted him for the reasons I posted before.

Regardless we have someone else so thankfully we can stop posts about him - unless it was started by one of you lot like this one.

Congratulations on keepeing him tbh, but i hope you don't finish too low, or else he will walk at the end of the season, maybe even January if your in the bottom third.

Unless they sell him in January or he signs a new contract, effectively they are loaning a player for one season for £6m. Hmmmmmmmmm!

How can he walk in January dopey? We might sell him but probably not if we are in the bottome 3...

Because while your chairman is an idiot for not accepting £6.5M - which is twice what he is worth - he won't let him go for nothing later on.

He won't stay regardless of your position, you offered him a couple of deals and he didn't sign so is definitely intending to leave.

If the owner wants to pay for it that's fine...

Well if the owner is willing to write off £6m as I understand he's loaded, if I was a Bristol City fan I would be asking why he can't invest in players in key positions which would take the club forward!

Couldn't give a monkeys about Maynard now, admittedly I did want us to sign him but I would also have been just as happy with having the Yak back because he would still score plenty of goals no matter how lazy he was.

If I was given the choice I would have taken Beckford ahead of Maynard anyway and now we have him and for about half of what it would cost us for Maynard, who hasn't proven that he can score in the PL!! Paying well over the odds for a player who only has a year left on his contract, has never proven himself in the PL and may well end up injured is ridiculous and i'm glad we haven't shelled out that much for an unproven player!!

He can happily move to wherever will have him at the end of the season, though there is zero guarantee that a PL club will come in for him anyway!!

The BCFC board and fans are mental in my opinion, turning down 6.5 mill and letting him leave for free makes no sense but hey ho whatever I couldn't care less!!

Maynard - good goalscorer
Mr Bristol - good WUM
Beckford - good goalscorer.

Everyones happy - lets all have a disco !

Err you're in the Championship mate!

Read what he has written before mate - he is comparing Maynard with Beckford who has played in the Premier League and costs less then the stupid amount for we offered for Maynard.

Bigfox - that loonies comment kinda proves my point though as well as being mental they're also thick as ****!!

Too many players and too high wage bill. The general concensus is that he is waiting until the new stadium is built and then go balls out for the prem. Before you ask why he didn't sell Maynard in that case, I think he genuinely didn't want to sell to another championship club. Maybe he sees Leicester as fellow relegation/mid-table candidates?

You see yourselves as relegation candidates - is good that you are being realistic ;).

Also what you typed explains why he didn't cash in on Maynard - need him to stay in the Championship so you can build for the next few seasons.

Tragic thread.

Bristol what is it youre so envious about?
Is it our beautiful blue white kit? Beautiful stadium? See to me bristol city are merely period tampons who exist in english football to make up the numbers.
I dont mean to belittle you however coming on here and calling beckford old and **** when were all excited is uncalled for.

Infact unlike you we couldnt give a **** about you.

Feel obliged to put on a sexy lesta shirt. I know you want to

Bristol are ****, owoah. Bristol are ****, woh.

And how many of the signings were actual first team players?

Apart from Danns and Pantsil, the rest were all surplus to requirements and were loaned out before you signed them!

Like the title reads.....

Congrats on signing a load of reserve players.....

WHAT! name one who wasnt? So your saying Schmeichel, Mills St Ledger, Nugent, Peltier werent 1st teamers?! Tool.

honestly, £6.5m for one season? Your club will never ever be the same again as if you had taken that money- clubs have gone into receivership and needed less cash boosts than that.

I couldnt care less tbh, i was first to bang on about us needing a striker and i knew we would struggle without one.

Lucky for us we will host chelsea next season and get maynardo on a free

Btw, you scored because we made a mistake. Hardly a classic. But seein how its youre cup final dont forget to show that tape to youre grandkids
'boys, this was when bristol beat the premier league champions'

boys reply 'was that before bristol were ****, owoah
