you're looking into this way too deep. maybe i shouldn't have said anything they sounded out the leeds job to see what was happening at the club. when grayson left it was a bit out of the blue - could have been a takeover or something. or in fact, it may have been a sneaky one to see if any of their other gems may have to be sold!
you're missing the point HE didn't do it his reps did, they probably didn't care who the boss is they were just bringing it to his attention
