It's not the sort of post we want to see on an open forum! Pretty much like the Morison/Tierney stories got deleted! Let's not go there!
To be nearer to his estranged wife? I heard from a very reliable source a few weeks ago that Leeds are very close to going into administration and the fate of the club balances on getting investment....
Oh right, you could have PM'd me to let me know it was you removing it. Fair enough taking it off though if you considered it potentially inflammatory, you are the boss after all and I bow to your authority. I didn't realise such censorship existed on here though to be honest and I was only relaying something I heard and wondered if anyone else had heard the same thing, which is what I thought was the idea of an open forum. Ah well, won't say any more on the subject
In fact it's one of the many theories going around as to why Ken might want to sell, along with personal illness and general can't be arsed any more... ness.
Just heard on SSN that reporter spoke to a NCFC player in private and said that the players want to see malky installed as new manager... Also whats all this tosh about we need to sell players?? Im sure it was only the other week where our chairman announced our transfer budget had been increased by £10mil
We do have to temper any feelings on this. Paul Lambert, NCFC manager did what he told the board he could do. Turn an ailing club around. He did it dramatically quick and with style as well. For that we can say thanks for doing what you said you could do. Good luck for the future. We do not owe him anything. He has also done well out of NCFC. We have enjoyed his tenure immensely but now we move on.
i am prepared for some surprised people on our board but as i understand it, simon from leeds is correct that lambert's representatives made contact with leeds united about their vacancy at the beginning of february. as far as i know, that's all it was and wasn't instigated by our manager. it is not unusual for this to happen and it never went further than that
Thanks for clearing things up mate. So do you think he was ever interested in the job or it was just his representatives testing the market for whatever reason? Certainly if he actually wanted the job Ken's as much of an idiot as I thought.
it may be possible i received the same information as you did at the time! i think his representatives had been told to keep their ears to the ground so to speak on all big jobs which came up. leeds, no matter which division they are in, are a big club but it was never realistic for lambert to go there. i heard that it was literally a case of 'whats the situation at leeds?'... 'oh. not interested. goodbye'
It could have been his reps thinking they were doing him a favour! He spends a large amount of the week in Glasgow to spend time with his kids! Rail links from Leeds to Glasgow much better than from Norwich!
Possibly he's been on the lookout for a big job with easier links to Scotland. I would say we come into that category but I would think it would be weird for Lambert to want to start working for Bates in the Championship.
as far as i know, it was nothing, absolutely nothing. most probably the same conversation that 60 or so other managers representatives will have had with leeds at the time
I'd say our job is one of those where, even if the manager in question would seem to have no real reason for wanting it, the representatives are going to be checking the situation just in case.
honestly carra, no need to be stunned. this is very normal for managers, even those who are in work. its a way of keeping abreast of what is happening at other clubs and was absolutely nothing to worry about
