Laugh all you want, the guy's generally very reliable. Says he was sworn to secrecy while Lambert was still Norwich manager, and it would explain why his odds on taking our job dropped so dramatically at one point. Maybe his family just isn't happy in East Anglia?

So, he applied for the job... but you went with Neil Warnock. Hmm...

If Lambert applied for the Leeds job, he would of been named manager. Absolute 100% bullshit.

I literally am <laugh>ing here.

I will laugh all I want because your reliable source probably works in a Heinz factory - Stroll on utter bollocks

Do you think this the start of the a downward spiral for you or do you think the platform built by Lambert will keep the club at a simaliar level

What will be, will be.

All clubs go through good times and bad. We had some VERY bad times and the past three years have been VERY good times. Our immediate future depends largely on the replacement. I have no doubt that the club will appoint a capable replacement.

Just shows the level of your knowledge. His family do not live in Norwich, never have. He divorced his wife shortly after moving to Norwich. She has lived in Glasgow the whole time.

The one silver-lining to come out of this is that it has happened in the close season when there are no premier league games being played and not 3 or 4 months into the season. At least we can concentrate on getting the right man in ready for next season and he can concentrate on getting the players prepared for next season from the start and will be able to bring in the players he requires to strengthen the squad when the transfer window opens. We just need McNally to move swiftly to appoint the right manager and his record apparently is a good one - He appointed a certain Roy Hodgson as manager when he was at Fulham, and look where he is now.

I was merely reporting what I had heard from a normally very reliable source (he's also not the only person to have heard it). It doesn't seem completely far-fetched to me that there is some personal reason Lambert might want to leave, which would mean he would try for any decent job going. Whether it is true and if so why Bates turned him down I don't know, just passing on what I thought was some relevant information.
