It's measurements taken and recorded in an easy to understand form.
How you interpret it is up to the viewer. I see it as evidence that in the past decade the Bering sea stopped being an Arctic sea and shifted to a Pacific Ocean environment. It's heat content is such that the winter is no longer capable of freezing a significant portion of it.
You can do the same for other seas and start to understand that there is a picture emerging where the Arctic meets the Pacific and the Atlantic which is important to understanding the bigger picture.
