In the field next door is the battery storage. For when the wind don't blow. No idea of the capacity sorry.

I reckon very few if any use wood burning stoves properly.
Log suppliers can no longer sell unseasoned/wet wood.
Logs per ton bag went from 120 to 150 quid in 4 months. Why? More and more people are having stoves installed. Some as a room feature only, others to try to reduce bills. Installers will explain what, and what not, to burn. And ideally below a certain moisture content 20%.
The clue is in the name, log burner. That is not to say some people will burn any "wood", old fencing, pallets even mdf. It is those I would put in the minority.
Whether log burning is carbon neutral, or even sustainable is the ying to the air quality yang.
That's 5% of the 20% of energy that is used for generation for the grid. The other 80% still needs to be found from somewhere. That's an awful lot more windmills, wires and substations that will all need making, maintenance, replacement and disposal.
Let me put you in the picture here. I put a quote on that I listened to from the engineer in charge. Seemed to know what he was on about but what do I know. It’s an impressive engineering feat. You may think not and probably know better. I’ve had the misery of following posts when you won’t let something go so don’t bother with me it’s been too nice a day.
I dont know anything about the subject but I note you said it "will provide electricity for 6 million homes" while the website I showed you said it would "provide electricity for UP TO 6 million homes"
I've seen advertising that says "up to 95% off" despite the average discount being 10%
The engineer you spoke to might well have said "will provide electricity for 6 million homes" but I think SSE Renewables, who are building the wind farms, will more likely be correct
I like to do my own research rather than go by what people say because too often what they say is misleading

The set up may be able to produce that much on a good day, but that doesn't mean to say they can get it into the network, as has been the case in Scotland and some others.
EDIT: I have no idea if it's an actual issue as I haven't checked, but I'd be interested to know how many of the weekly fossil fueled power stations China builds are to produce the turbines and solar panels for Europe.

Im sure most do because they heat up much hotter and burn longer and more efficiently. Not to mention keeping the chimney clean. There’s no reason not to use it properly unless you’re an complete idiot.
Or my next door neighbour who burns any old wood, wet, green, creosoted or not.

Maybe she just hasn’t had any good wood in her log burner and never experienced primary and secondary combustion from the same plank.
