You have to put it into context, the club who finish last in the Premier League gets about 100 million for that season and another 85 million spread over the next 3 seasons.

They should be able to sell off some of their high value Premier League players and replace them with good Championship players.
 
Ok I am a total idiot, naïve, stupid but maybe all three, but does anyone know what our spending limits are? Besides those who shall remain nameless, and, it seems, intent of running Hull City in a somewhat cavalier attitude.
 
Also reported Norwood may choose City over Fulham because of game time. Fulham also want Skalak apparently.. again, not sure about the web source..

You have to put it into context. You either want the Allams to **** off or you want them to keep spending lots of money.

All but 6 or 7 sides in this division are built on a shoestring budget.

How did Sunderland do with that?
Boro spunked 70 million and didn't go up.
Gibson has already wrote of fifty odd million once.
They don't go up and he'll be doing it again or Liquidation for them.

I agree I've said all along the quickest we will see them leave is when the last parachute payment is in their bank
 
It now appears we have a 40% sell on clause for Conor Townsend, and Peter Swann the Scunny chairman has stated our bid for him was 'rubbish'.

So it would be in Ehab's best interest in getting a bidding war going for Townsend, we could end up with enough cash to buy a backup left back, not sure that Adkins would be happy though.

Sure it's gambling, on the other side of the coin is Newcastle, Burnley, Bournmouth maybe Huddersfield. I said a few times before the gulf between the Premier League and the Championship is getting wider and wider.

It's just that most Championship clubs speculate to get that promotion. Even so, there's no guarantee that chucking loads of money at it will secure promotion (look at Boro last season).

Hull City are not in the top flight any more so the time to discuss good management to stay there is over. The Allams big pay-off galloped over the horizon (they blew it).

They have taken the safe option of cutting their cloth accordingly (and repaying the speculation they spent up front) by cutting overheads to the bone and selling off the silver.

Most clubs (I'm thinking us, Bolton, Coventry, Portsmouth) will not be going back to the top flight any time soon without another speculator coming in.

That means our norm will be falling to a level where players don't cost millions of pounds. Due to the premier league riches (and caché), there will never be a shortage of speculators coming in until football goes pop.

Every year, 3 of those speculators will win (2 if there's a well-run club that strikes lucky) and all the other speculators (like Tony Xia and Ellis Short) have to fire-fight).
