I actually thought the price for Maguire was fair all things considered. If Bruce would have ever let him play he'd either have been more accomplished at the time or he'd have left earlier with more time on his contract, either way we'd probably have got double.

Can you let me know if you are selling your car (and it is a decent model). Thanks

The proof will be in the playing, but I like the fiscal prudence in these signings and these 200k, 500k signings of supposed young talent floats my ****ing boat.

So, perhaps we may have to give LD some credit.

Previously, whilst I realise criticisms of him are a criticism of EA (by proxy) it has felt a little unfair - especially considering bar scouting (or collating) suitable players, he'll have next to **** all power.

I think we will do better then some on here want us to!

On paper they look good.

But surely you wait until we see them live? As none of us have seen any of our signings live (or at least much) why are we giving them lavish praise? They could be terrible...

In principle I agree with the philosophy of what we are doing. I have no idea if they are good or bad signings, nor do any of us.

Peterborough have offered £500,000 for Bradford's Charlie Wyke, I would like to think we could improve on that.

Any player in the Championship who puts in a shift and makes an impression will have a value in the millions. We have shown it with Clucas, Tymon, and Bowen (still expecting him to go) Occasionally you can hit the jackpot like Harry and Robertson, so buying players for less than half a million almost guarantees a profit. Sad to say but i think this is the clubs new policy and I don't see the Allams leaving any time soon.

Before football was invented, pre Sky, pre Bosnan, clubs existed,, or achieved success, mainly down to the philanthropy of the chairman. With the hope that a good 'un arrived. The sale carried the club forward for a few more years. But the chairman still had to pay for his train set, plaything.

If it is the intention of our owners to run the club wheeling and dealing in the transfer market, they will have to risk more than the twenty odd outfield players they are attempting this strategy with. Or hope the academy throws up a Bowen every couple of years.

Football club chairman, generator manufacturer? Decisions decisions, but I am sure which role appeals most to a playboy.

Can't argue with that.
