Now that is funny. Not a chance of Dawson going to Sunderland.

Not a chance? They're an established PL side (albeit a not very good one), he'd go back to PL wages, they can afford him and they need somebody exactly like him to plug their leaky defence.

I don't see what's doubtful about it. The only doubt lies with whether they're actually interested, but they'd be mad not to be.

It would take Michael Dawson, a brick wall and a swarm of bees to remotely help Sunderland.

Sunderland need to get relegated because they walk the fine tightrope every year and then don't learn from their lessons every year. Easily one of the most depressing teams in recent Premier League history. I'm sure even many Sunderland fans would agree.

There are hardly any players I would genuinely want from Sunderland and that's even at Championship level.

I'd take Cattermole for his 6 games a season...he has passion. Something we seem to be missing in spades.

Maloney going to be announced tomorrow eh. Wouldn't hold my breath. I think it is another case of someone has to be sold before it can happen. I wouldn't be surprised if the announcement tomorrow was that Bruce has resigned as manager due to the lack of ambition by the owners.

Now, now, keep taking the positive pills

It would be his way out, rather than his team are playing like a set of ****s and he's unable to change it

I had to give a talk one time and as i stood at the lectern i made a reference to ," I'm a little nervous but I'm sure if anyone's seen Police Academy i'm hoping to be more relaxed any moment."

Not a ****ing titter.

That talk was a struggle I can tell you.

We were reliving some Police Academy moments earlier, when I suggested his name would be better as Mahoney for shirt sales. One of my favourite films as a teen.

'Johnson's lassard as far as the eyes can see'

Comedy gold.

We are 3 months, 583 pages and 11,656 (ish) posts into our transfer thread and, beyond random names and a bit of fairly unimpressive transfer activity (with the exception of Maloney!), are any of us any wiser about what Steve Bruce and the owners are really playing at? Forget FFP, forget out before in, forget your personal likes and dislikes; just what the hell is our strategy or ambition?

Strange strategy. It's clear to see the Allams are taking money out - I was told by someone that 4 more of the existing squad will be gone by deadline day.

We haven't really properly addressed any of the weaknesses in the team for the last couple of seasons. We also desperately need to change our approach to games. We're slow, ponderous and largely underwhelming in how all players generally look for a pass backwards. We also seem intent on hanging onto one goal leads - very dangerous.

As Stevebruce picks the players, the same strategy he adopts for all things.

Names picked from a hat.

I do a lot of public speaking, Chazz.

Often incoherent ranting prior to arrest, but it all counts.

My advice?

Imagine yourself naked.

You'll relax into the gig in a jiffy and no mistake.
