So we've now had one occasion where we were forced to sell a player to a rival against the wishes of the manager due to a clause ridiculously put into his loan contract (not to do with the player's original contract so we were not at all obliged to do so) - seriously who the **** thought that was a good idea.

We are now in a position where half our team could go in the final hour of the window.

Whoever is in charge of the contract situation appears to be completely and utterly clueless. The average football fan could tell you how stupid the contracts are, what does that say about how the business side of the club is being run?
They're seemingly a bunch of know nowt ****s. The clauses that have been inserted into contracts highlight the fact that the Allam's know very little, or at least are very naive about business, let alone ****ing football! They have left themselves in a position whereby, come September 2nd, that would see us struggle to maintain our place in the Championship.

Maybe that's what they want, recoup as much as they can get then **** off.

Promotion? Pfffft.

Maybe the players or agents wouldn't agree to them having expiry dates? It doesn't seem common place by any means, they only clause ive heard of with a use by date was Fellaini's.

I don't think it's as cut and dry as some people think. Agents are real greedy fat ****s.
You are giving them a release clause so it seems ridiculous to expect them to be able to use it at the last second of the window. If they have that much power then you would agree to everything they wanted. I would only accept reasonable clauses and not clauses that could hurt us severely.

Worst thing about this transfer window / relegation is watch our players being linked with mood or actually getting moves to clubs with a similar or worse stature than ours. Teams that are all relegation candidates themselves. Worse still is that the majority of these players would most likely been happy to help us get promoted again this year had no one come in for them.

Elmo to Watford being the most recent.

Well then you let the players go or offer them a different incentive. You don't put yourself in such an incredibly weak position

I am contemplating doing a daily vlog if posters on here would be interested. A bit like a diary if you like.

I have signed up to online dating and the first meeting is tonight. I have been honest with what I expect - size 10, outgoing, brunette and energetic.
More updates if people are interested on Vern's life.

Maybe City transfer news is not the best place although offers of where to re-locate would be appreciated.

To my knowledge that's 99.9% of release clauses I ever heard of.

What if they refuse it, we just don't sign them on the off chance we got relegated and someone came in for them on deadline day?

So instead of signing Nikica Jelavic and Shane Long to boost our survival bid, we sign Dele Adebola and Rowan Vine who will sign without these clauses?

How many release clauses with expiry dates have you heard of? Post some articles up, prove just how bad business this is.

Why the **** would we be interested, sad ****?

The foolish transfer of power on players transfers (the majority of whom Steve Bruce thought were likely to be attracted by a move), with no real financial benefit, but a huge commercial disadvantage in terms of how and when negotiations could be most beneficial (or damaging), is all of the proof needed to show this is very bad business and it began long before relegation. I am not sure why it is assumed the spin on Ehab is correct, it is just as likely his old man gave him a silenced bullet as a face-saver.

Would anybody be massively disappointed with Leigh Griffiths at Celtic? Pretty good goalscoring record and did a half decent job at Wolves as a young un. Wouldn't have bothered in the PL but now we're a division lower I reckon he could do a job.

Still think Tom Bradshaw at Walsall would be a good bargain.

But watch it be Leon Best. Or Leroy Lita.

Yes, yes I would.
