I completely agree on the depth point, but in this league 1.3m is a lot to spent on a depth player in Clucas.
Yeah I agree with that as well, will be interesting to see if an Italian club comes back in for Hernandez when they realise we won't cave.

Wingers who hug the touchline mainly went out 50 years ago. The nearest thing in the modern game for me would be the wide players in a 4 4 2. You don't think Elmo is principally a winger?

I'd say he's a wing-back, I guess that's partly where my confusion came from, wing-backs are primarily defensive, wingers (in my mind) are primarily forward, and right/left-mids are in between.
Norwich in for jelavic. Maybe this will fund the extra needed for Gray and a keeper, hopefully from Southend.
Keep thinking we should flog Jela off. We really just need someone's wages off the books, the fee isn't crucial.
Speaking about Clucas specifically for a moment and your earlier condemnation of signing him for £1.3m - how can you not when he was working part-time at a Debenhams cafeteria only a couple of years ago + you are well aware of how much players are paid for in this game.
Maybe. Maybe we're holding out for a good fee.
Not saying he wasn't necessarily good value, but would you rather Clucas sitting on the bench, or a better keeper, for instance? We may well end up with both which is why I said I guess we'll see what shape we're in at the end of the window, it's just interesting we've chosen to spend 2.5m on wide players on that side, with another 3.5m spend on the other wing.
