For Tom to go, the release clause must be in excess of what we paid for him. Hopefully £6m+ and with the hefty wages off the books it should free up some funds. SB is exceptional at this level so I'm not overly worried if we lose anyone really.

^^

Sounds like you don't have a clue either.

I have a strange feeling that we might have a go at getting Anichebe, think he'd be very good in the championship

We're linked with him nearly every transfer window, almost as much as Campbell.

I know, but after hearing Pulis talking about wanting to bring in a lot of new faces, he'll be well down the pecking order. Potentialy a very good signing though and the perfect foil for someone like Akpom. A much cheaper alternative to Gray, could probably get him on loan with WBA footing a fair amount of his salary

It certainly helped when we took Dudgeon, Chester, Brady, King & Stewart though

That had less to do with them all being mates and the fact we were offering them consistent league football. They were hardly established top quality players like Gray, were they?

It gives you an edge over the competition as it's easier for the players to settle. I'm sure that there was a queue to take those lads from Man Utd

Ok. I think there's a big difference between Gray playing regularly and well for Brentford and Chester playing at a L1 club on loan.

Having mates where you're going can make all the difference in making your decision, regardless of level and frequency of how much you're playing, providing you can be pretty sure you'l get regular games and will develop & gain experience.

You see what you did there???

He's not playing much for them these days, thought it was worth a shout.

Naismith has played exactly 31 league games every season he's been at Everton.

So far this season they've played twice and he played in both games.

He's obviously still an integral part of their team and there's absolutely no way he'd drop to the Championship anyway.
