Thought West Ham had someone lined up and Bilic had been quoted as saying after that player came in - some player from the continent - he was done?

Yep, without him in the side we look a lot smaller.

It's not size it's quality - someone who can pass the ball reliably further than 10/20 yards.

It's impossible to judge Hayden yet as I think that was his senior debut but not only did he not fill me with confidence he didn't play or attempt anything other than short and simple. Meyler we know is all heart and guts and very effective at this level but he's not gonna no to be pinging the ball from flank to flank starting off swift attacks. Diame will be back next week for the rest of his career, and probably won't be here all that long besides.

If we're going to be a team that looks to be top of the pile and dominate other teams, we need that quality in the middle to ping the ball around at ease and play through the middle. Last time in the championship we had Koren, Cardiff had Whittingham, Palace had that Jonny Williams who did very well. Take Huddlestone out and we've **** all, and I've no doubt Bruce would replace him with another sit deep hustle and bustle type as well.

Tom played well yesterday, he'd be a big loss. I'd hate to think that his buy out clause is what we paid for him?!

I just hope SB has replacements lined up for him, Lansbury, Bridcutt. I see Will Hughes went over on his knee yesterday...that's a big hole in Derby's plans

Huddlestone's one long pass is pinging it to Elmo. 10 million would be an amazing deal assuming it was spent on players and also not just spent speculatively by Bruce. I doubt top tier teams are looking at Huddlestone now though. An ok but not great performance against Huddersfield will not bring in the bidders I think.
