The problem we have isn't the fee, it's the fact that if QPR are in for him, it could make a bidding war or it could lead to him deciding he wants to remain in the South!

Wasn't there a report saying he'd reject Forest because he wanted to work with Steve Bruce as manager? That's got to be a plus!

Surely we have permission to talk to him though now and can sign him without waiting the 21 days.

Yeah if we've met the clause then we can speak to him. If SB is smart about this he'll get him in pronto. Mention of Everton, however, could just be agent talk trying to rush somebody else trying to sign him.

Maybe, but as it stands neither us or QPR have made an offer. It's better to have been in the race and lost than never to have been in the race at all.

Do we need another fullback or cb/dmf (Arsenal). Surely getting the ball in the net is the priority. How many goals were scored by the "strikers" in our friendlies?

Complimentary Youtube footage of Hayden in Arsenals 2014-15 pre season. He looks very comfortable on the ball, perhaps a direct replacement for Chester? I must admit I've heard but not seen too much of him and obviously youtube isn't much to go on, but I he certainly looks capable of playing in the Championship. Stick a buy out clause in there, he's only got 2 years left on his deal.

Why would a team bid more if his release clause is 3.5m , there hardly likely to bid more
That happens in the MLS, teams can offer more and it cancels out the other teams bids so if it's 3.5 and you bid 3.6 you are now the only team to have a bid accepted as the 3.6 cancels the 3.5 so the player can not even talk to the team that bid 3.5. It's like a release clause which triggers an auction, there is a certain amount of days that teams are allowed to match or bid higher.

He's a winger, not a right-back. He only played right-back because of injuries last season so I believe.
