If we're playing with 3 each game then yes....Bruce is way too injury prone in the Championship. Plus Dawson and Davies were injured at points throughout last season.
Yes because we play with 3 centre halves meaning we only have 1 spare, plus Davies has been ****e, I wouldn't like to rely on him.
Chester leaving would be bittersweet, he's onviously ****ing brilliant, but it would pave the way for Maguire who I think is also just as classy.
Bruce is **** and injury prone, Dawson is injury prone, Davies was dropped half of last season and whilst Maguire shows promise he's too slow - we need at least 2 central defenders if we're playing 3 at the back - wouldn't surprise me if Davies wants out as well and if he does no-one should blame him
I'm curious to know who in our current squad you consider to be better than Brady and Chester ? We have some great talent I admit but few could claim to have put in the consistently good performances of these two young men ! Possibly with the exception of Elmo .
Id say dawsons a better cb than chester as well as davies when on form, maguires got promise and could well surpass chester

Our defence and goalkeepers are looking good for next season even better than the defence and GKs we had last time around in 12/13. If we can keep Diame, Aluko regains the form he had when last playing at this level and Snodgrass to return aswell I think next season is looking very positive now.

Actually you pay a premium for quality CBs. Look at how much John Stones is going to go for.
Keepers and defensive midfielders are the dime a dozen players.
Dawson has been excellent but is in his twilight years ,Davies seems to have lost all interests , and McGuire has yet to prove himself ( May have done on loan but not in the prem!) Chester has age consistency and proof of ability on his side . He will be a huge loss to us .. Brady has been hampered a little by injury but in the latter part of the season was a class apart and certainly has more to come , maybe with a striker that can score goals his assists stats would have been better . Unfortunately our strikers did not put the ball in the net !! As for Snodgrass I wish that lad all the luck in the world this season he deserves it !
But I thought no one was in for him and it was foolish to suggest he'd go for more than 8m?
I wouldn't describe Brady as a class apart. I think he's had a remotely average season overall but he did finish it strongly. But he's a very frustrating player.
On a different note, is anyone noticing how our recruitment style appears to be changing? We used to wait generally until players became established championship players before approaching them now we seem to be taking more of a punt on younger players coming through. I'm quite excited to see how Clucas does for us, I've seen very little of him
No, I think we ended up paying £2m for Brady as Watford also put a bid in for him. Still £7m back is tremendous. I think Robertson will be better.
