I think providing Jela, N'Doye and Hernandez leave - we need 3 strikers. I'm still not of the opinion that Aluko is a striker - he plays that withdrawn role almost like an attacking midfielder. His best position for me though would be as a winger.

Ah so he did. Even so, if he can chip in just as many alongside a striker who can bag us double that we've got a great chance.

I agree. My problem with Aluko is that he plays for himself and not the team. Could make a real name for himself if he became a team player but will try again to emulate Stuart Elliott when we were in League 1 and (just my opinion and I hope I am wrong) will be attempting 30 yard shots instead of looking for Jelly or whoever we have up front.

Funnily enough I don't think he shoots often enough; he find himself in good enough positions and has the ability to create chances for himself, but he nevre seems to get a shot away.

I think you're right in that he's a selfish player, but then some players just are and with his ability I think it's good he has the confidence to take players on. As you say, hopefully he'll become more of a playmaker and somebody our team can play through.

So if we sign Taylor and Palacios is that us sorted in midfield or are we still short? Personally I'd still like somone a bit more creative to come in. Jota at Brentford would be ideal.

He'd be great but he'd cost a packet. If those two you mentioned come in then it gives us 5 CM options, perhaps with Clark as cover if he doesn't get loaned out.

Phil Buckingham reporting Crystal Palace have approached city regards Chester

Chester needs to hang fire and bide his time. If Everton sell John Stones to Chelsea then Chezza wouild fit the bill perfectly as a replacement for the Toffee men.

James Chester can do better than Crystal Palace.

I really, really don't understand it all, because he won't be able to sell or recover his money unless we're promoted. So he's basically spiting himself.

Spot on ^^^^^^ this. Something that many on here simply dont understand at all.

Allam should tell Bruce that as long as the 3 strikers go nobody else will and there is wonga to spend on replacements.

To even consider selling Brady and Chester the club should be looking for fees of £12m-Brady and £15m-Chester. Especially if John Stones is in the £30m+ bracket. Both Brady and Chester are PL proven and international players.

The only way that Allam will get his investment back and quickly is to help the club get back to the PL this season.
